    Bring Back Chris Henry

Friday, July 18, 2008, 01:33 PM EST [Cincinnati Bengals]

The assault charges that led to the Bengals releasing him have been dropped - a reinstatement to the NFL is likely to follow.   The Bengals would be STUPID to not go after him.  He would likely come cheap given his past problems, and with OCHO COMPLAINO being the bi-polar lunatic that he is I think it's a good idea to get as many wide receivers on this team as possible.

No, Henry isn't a choir boy.  But he is the best #3 receiver in the league.  I would have no problem with them signing Henry.  I don't go down there on Sundays to watch humanitarians play football.  I want a winner, and if he can stay out of trouble and on the field (by now he must have learned his lesson, right?  lol) Henry can help us win.

    Sign him.

Uh, if he didn't learn the lesson the first 5 times, what makes you think it's going to be different this time? Just because the charges were dropped doesn't mean he'll automatically be re-instated. Remember Odell took a little heat for the incident down in Georgia where the charges were dropped. So, I think he may still get 4 games for "being in the wrong place".

Now, on to the issue at hand, I just can't see us investing the time and roster spot for someone that you can't rely on, AT ALL. We'll see, if I had to bet, I'd say they will re-sign him, since the front office usually makes poor decisions. It would chap my arse a little if he signed on somewhere else and made a big play against us. It's really a lose lose situation. We lose if we let him back, only to see him let us down again...and we lose if we let him go somewhere else and he plays well against us. The only way we win is if he comes back and stays out of trouble, I really doubt that happens.

I'd be shocked if the Bengals resigned this clown. We drafted two receivers specifically because he was gone. I'd say that either Simpson or Caldwell should pan out as a decent #3.

I'm with you, if they can get him they should...I doubt they do, but he definitely could help them and I'm sure Palmer would like him back. And you're right, I'm not watching these guys on Sunday to see who is a saint...

I'd say no. He didn't exactly help the offense much last year in the 2nd half (he's not smart enough to learn the playbook and only runs streaks), and the Bengals have plenty of receiving options. 84,85, Utecht, 3rd receiver and hopefully Chris Perry. Don't embarrass the franchise again by picking this clown up. He WILL do something stupid again.
