In the offseason before the 2006 season the Bengals needed a safety. They had a few choices in free agency. Coming off of a division title and an enigmatic defense who took the ball away from opponents with ease. For once we could attract a quality free agent. My sister at the time worked at The Precinct resturaunt a favorite of local big wigs. She spotted Marvin and a, then free agent Lawyer Milloy along with his agent. (she had to ask the bartender who Lawyer was which was later confirmed in the paper) So as we know the Bengals didnt get that deal done. In the next few weeks they signed former tampa bay buc Dexter Jackson.
Here are their stats from last year. Take into consideration that Jackson played less games because of injury.
Lawyer Milloy- 91 total tackles, 77 solo, 3 for loss, 2 int
Jackson- 72 total tackles, 44 solo, 4 for loss, 0.5 sacks, 1 ff, 2 int
they are actually pretty close
I also noticed that Atlanta has picked up a few of our scrap heap send offs.
C-Alex Stepanovich
C-Ben Wilkerson
CB-Blue Adams

So what's your point? As a team improves other teams begin to pick up the cast offs.
