Players who will shred the Bengals ( another reason to watch)

Monday, August 18, 2008, 10:34 PM EST [General]

These arent fantasy picks, but they could be. Was just looking at the old schedual and I compiled a short list of: Players who will shred the Bengals defense.

Player #1 Ray Rice-Ravens     This guy looks like a young Jamal Lewis that can catch and run 80 yards at full speed. He runs right through half hearted tackles. You may be wondering about Willis Mcgahee. If hes not hurt he will have a big game too.

Player(s)#2 Brandon Jacobs, Derrick Ward, and(or) Amahd Bradshaw. One of them will. You know it. You think Brandon Jacobs will have a problem running Marvin White over? Or Bradshaw wont beat Rashad Jeanty to the outside? Slam dunk.

Player#3 Rashard Mendenhall- Steelers rookie running back. Once again what bout Willie Parker. I think the steelers will go back the 2 back system the always used before. Now they got two good backs to keep that fourth quarter lead by milking the clock. They used to bring Bettis in 3rd quarter and just kill time. there will be enough carries for both guys

Player#4 Maurice Jones-Drew- You all know. I dont have to tell you a thing.

Player#5 Brian Westbrook- prediction 125 yrds rushing, 90+yrds recieving and at least 2 tds. Thats conservative I think.

Hope you enjoyed my negativity. But if your these players its positive. I guess everything is relative.

Note: In my last post I unfairly labeled football "the sport which affords more opportunty for greatness".Just got to say it, basketball is right up there too. So Im just hating on baseball and all those other sports that nobody cares about.

Chris Henry and a why we love football rant

Monday, August 18, 2008, 10:06 PM EST [General]

Ok so if Henry is back and helps them win great. If he falls on his face there will be no end to the hating that Cincy will have to put up with. The fact that this is even being considered is further proof that they CANT do it on their own and they DO need a GM.

This is just the weakest crap ever. Im not sure how else to say it. I hate these bullcrap distraction from the game. I dont want to hear about this crap. I want to watch football. The game that seems to afford the most opportunity for greatness. I mean why do we love football? Every game has amazing feets of atheletic ability. Every play could change the game. There is (so they say) complex strategy designed to make bigger and sweeter plays.

Guys like Chris Henry distract the media from things that really matter. I mean the least he can do is tell someone else to "pick it up bitch" so we can make jokes about this. But its not really funny.

That said Ill be cheering his name if he scores 3 tds against the steelers. So I am a hipocrite. Whatever nobodys perfect.

........uhhh at least it just preseason?

I remember last year thinking the same thing. But once again I must put on my poo colored glasses. I cant help but think some of these problems will carry over to the reg season.

Our O-line has real issues. Its compounded by the fact that Carson cant avoid trouble. I guess what Im saying Im worried about the offense.Ive taken off the poo colored glasses. Chris Perry! Kenny Watson!

Now the defense. keith Rivers is amazing. I think I have my first man crush (never understood that term but I think Im starting to). A little worried about corner play, but there is alot of talent disparody between recievers and corners.

Special teams average. I hope they can figure out how to score in that faze.

the first half was lackluster to say the least. but with the schedual this year, Im just hoping they can beat the steelers twice.  Im also a Giants fan. I think we all know what is going to happen in the meadowlands when the bengals come in there...........

    The Center issue.....

Friday, August 15, 2008, 06:49 PM EST [General]

Lance I didnt have time to call in but I am with you all the way. Just make the switch to Bobby Williams now. Guichech(spelling?) is a back up anyway. The only reason he was playing originally is cuz the Brain went down. They really should have addressed this by now.

This reminds me of when I used to work in resturaunts. This kind of thing would happen all the time. Joe Shmo would put his two weeks in. Two weeks go by with no one hired to replace Joe Smo. So they throw Jim Whatshisnuts in to cover when they realize there is no one on the schedual. At least they could help train Jim but no they just keep throwing him in there even though they have been givin ample time to prepare.

I guess I shouldnt expect a multimillion dollar business like The Bengals to be run more proffesionally than the local pizza joint. My mistake.

    "AC" from kentucky's new look?

Thursday, August 14, 2008, 06:02 PM EST [General]

Seriously? Is this a joke? I thought he looked like a d-bag before....now he really looks like a morning radio guy. More on the FM side though. Those guys always have stupid names like "Cutman" and wear sunglasses indoors especially for photos. I mean am I suposed to think that he is this "super cool guy" because he has a golf shirt on instead of that stuffy suit? Well I will give the guy credit for changing it up. It takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there looking like that. Donald Fagen has been sporting that look for years, but some people actually like him....

I would just like to thank "AC" from ky for being so easy to rip on. Its pretty simple......Seriously.......its a beautiful thing.
