    Can't understand something today

Thursday, December 18, 2008, 02:38 PM EST [General]

I heard the news early this morning on Mo's show and it hasn't let up. Someone please tell me why AK's arrest is such a big news story here in town? I'd understand this being the top news story if he were still UC's coach. I mean I could understand if this were Huggins, but not AK. One season. Merely a blip on the UC timeline.

This especially shouldn't be the topic when you still have other things to talk about:

    1. Why are there still tickets available to the Orange Bowl?
    2. Xavier playing it's most important game in history this Saturday -- a win moves them to Top 5.
    3. UC plays a game tonight. Improvements made from the X game.
    4. Continue to beat the dead horse that is Marvin v. Dustin (this is the best thing that could have happened for Marvin ... he's moved to back page for acting like a child yesterday).
    5. WhoDeyRevolution running out of ideas to promote their mission.

I just don't get it. Hopefully the afternoon show will be a bit better.

    No Accountability

Monday, October 27, 2008, 09:36 AM EST [General]

This part from Chick Ludwig's piece about J.J.'s spectacular play.

Joseph faced the media afterward and didn't exactly accept responsibility for his mistake, saying he wanted to see the film.

"It's one of those plays where I was there and I thought I had tagged him down," he said. "If I didn't think he was down, I would have tackled him. But (the refs) said he was up. I guess it's continuation. I'd like to have it back, but obviously you can't take nothing back once it happens. You've got to move on."

Joseph didn't appreciate getting lit up by the CBS broadcasting crew, which called his tackle attempt lazy. Gus Johnson and Steve Tasker announced the game for CBS.

"That's the guy on CBS," Joseph said. "He wasn't out there."

That's great. Not only does he feel he did nothing wrong, decides to take a shot at the guy calling the game. Instead of owning up to his mistake, he continues the Bengal tradition of zero-accountability and will start and play the entire game next week. Marvin put him back on the field immediately after the mistake, never once getting in his face saying you play until the whistle. Pathetic.

We have guys laying all over the field. This team is worse than the 2-14 2002 team.

How the mighty have fallen ...

Do you remember when Carson was considered an elite quarterback?

What's that ... you think he still is? Well guess again. Not that I believe everything the Worldwide Leader thinks, I still think it is a sad state of affairs that Carson isn't even mentioned any more.

    Why bother?

Monday, September 15, 2008, 09:34 AM EST [General]

What's the point any more? Why do we even bother to care? The Bengals are awful. Will always be awful. It is now going on 20 years of being a losing franchise in a sport that is designed for parity.

You actually have to work at being this bad as an organization. I don't see it changing anytime soon and at this point don't care. I'm picking another team, someone in the NFC (thinking Carolina) to root for.

Can't wait to hear the press conference this week. What is the over/under on minutes until Marvin's first laugh? I'm saying 6 minutes.

Thanks for the advice Bench! Unfortunately, I'm hard-headed and have trouble letting things go sometimes. I am done now with him, but don't be surprised if I have another 'discussion' with him or PvJ in the future.
