At the suggestion of fellow Lot D(er), Grant, I tried out Rod's Capricorn Inn last night. It's a little hole in the wall joint out in the middle of BFE somewhere between Blanchester and Wilmington on St Rt 730.
To quote one of my favorite actors, Samuel L Jackson, "That was a tasty burger". It was also on the brink of being enormous. Wife and I shared some fries and onion rings which were both top notch as well. Price was good too. 2 enormous burgers, big basket of fries, big basket of onion rings, a Dr. Pepper and bottomless Miller Lite for around $15.
Yes, you read that correctly, unlimited beer for $3. They have a keg sitting in some ice in a bucket in the middle of the floor, you just go and fill your own cup. The only drawback is they only have plastic cups.
I thought it was quite good. I for one definitely liked it better than McD's the former Cincinnati champ but and you knew there had to be a BUT. My wife didn't like the burger. She said it was so thin that it would not stay together and it was so greasy that she had heartburn before she was even half finished with it. I don't get heartburn so I'll have to take her word for it.
Anyway, it looks like here are the top 5 now readjusted:
1. Rod's Capricorn Inn
2. McD's Diner (Blanchester)
3. Hamburger Mary's (downtown)
4. Red Robin
5. Perkins
