Why Cincinnati is the worst sports town in the United States.....
1.) Mike Brown
2.) Fans who think UC is actually a football school....see last night's performance folks...much uglier than 20-7 if you know anything about football.
3.) People think Mick Cronin is actually a good basketball coach.....enjoy another 5 win or less season when the Big East starts.
4.) Fans sell out a football stadium to a team that has had one winning season in the past 18.
5.) Support a University whose President virtually eliminated the only good sport and coach in this town---UC Basketball & Bob Huggins
6.) The weather is the most popular segment on TV News
7.) The best event of the baseball season is before it even starts--The Parade!
8.) They play TOSU fight song during PROFESSIONAL football games...a joke.
9.) The most passion on radio stations around town is for UK Basketball
10.) The 90 year old Reds GM thinks adding Ramon Hernandez & Willy Tavaras along with Brandon Phillips & Alex Gonzalez, gives the Reds "the best middle fielding in baseball"....go take some alzheimer's medicine Walt, you are smoking the same thing Lindnerllinni is!
Thank you, the Nut has spoken, 2009 may officially begin!

Reaction to Loss #3
Seriously, if you think this team played well, you are foolish....80 yds. rushing, penalities, giving up big plays, sacks, sacks, sacks, INVISIBLE primetime wide-receiver, poor coaching, poor clock management, poor tackling......so why did we alomost......The Giants overlooked the Bengals plain and simple....and you can't do that in the NFL, ask the Patriots how overlooking the Dolphins went for them today.
So, what can be done...Bench Levi, move Whitworth to LT and put Kooistra in at Guard, that is the only chance you have. Levi is going to get Carson killed. There was one play where he helped trible team one of the DT's and completley let Kiwanuka distroy Carson.
Where are Jerome Simpson, Andre Caldwell, Pat Sims, Jason Shirley, and any other rookie?
On Defense, bench Dhani Jones and John Thornton, Move Jeanty in the middle and let Pat Sims play.
So, it comes to light. Chad is really hurt and we are shopping Rudi Johnson. Interesting that a media guy in Atlanta (Chris Mortensen) breaks the story both about Chad's injury and the possible trade of Rudi Johnson, while Cincinnati Media is covering 10 minute nose surgeries...should tell everyone on here the level of respect for the Media. It just goes to show you that in other towns, people would lose their jobs, while here in Cincinnati, nothing ever changes.
Reds....people, please give it a rest. Honestly, this is the MOST optimistic I have felt about the Reds in years. This team will be close to .500 next year and contend in 2010 due to Griffey and Dunn being gone. There will some huge FA's brought in the help this team contend, but also don't be surprised if a guy like Dickerson or Edwin is moved for pitching help.
College Football starts Thursday....you have been waiting, the best sport on earth. And now, my national championship picks......starting with the National Title game:
FLORIDA v. OKLAHOMA
Sorry to the Buckeye Fans, Georgia Bulldogs, USC's of the world, but Defense and QB's win National Titles and Florida has the best QB and Oklahoma has the best defense, they also both have relatively easy schedules, so those are my picks, take it or leave it, so says the Nut.
Ohio State will make the Rose Bowl and have a rematch against USC, but that will be as far as they get as they lose Sept. 13th and they will also lose a big 10 game (either Wisconsin or Illinois on the road.)
Heisman: Tim Tebow
Surprise team: Tennessee (Tennesse v. Florida winner will play for National Title)
Most Disappointing Team: UCLA, Georgia, Locally Cincinnati will only win 6-7 games this season
Coach of Year: Charlie Weis, Notre Dame (lose only 2x this year at the most)
TODAY'S POLL--Will Marvin resign at the end of the season?
Well, it has been a long time. Here is the latest Real News & Views in Cincinnati.
Chris Henry is back...great news for Bengals fans, at least we'll have something to monitor this season since the wins are going to be few and far between.
Next, the team. We'll I'll admit, I WAS WRONG, this team won't be 8-8, how is 6-10 looking at boys and girls! This team is a train wreck and may be 2-6 or 3-5 at their bye week. Defense, NO CHANGE. Anyone who says different doesn't know football. Offense, Carson is retreating, not improving. Offensive line looks OLD and SLOW; about the only one worth keeping is Whitworth and he is average.
List of players who Won't make this team: Ahmad Brooks, DeDe Dorsey, Simeon Castille, Jeremi Johnson, Nate Lawrie, Frostee Rucker, Rudi Johnson????
The REDS....all hail Walt Jocketty. He did what no other GM had the balls to do, get rid of Junior and Dunner. This team is better positioned to win 80 games next year...when is opening day!!! Junior and Dunn are better off anywhere but here. This team is more athletic, younger, and better able to move runners which in baseball is what you need to do to win. The only other thing Walt could do is get the fences moved back 20 feet and I will have an even bigger man crush on him than I already have.
Michael Phelps, good enough. Bigger story how bad our track program sucks though. Will we ever win a gold in an individual track event? I remember Carl Lewis, Jackie Joyner, Flo Jo, etc.
Ticketmaster...who cares. It is a business, they have to make money too. Don't use them then, there is a premium for their services.
The Election...spare me the next 6 weeks. Can the Olympics last until November?? Whatever your views are....just watch the debates, make a decision, and go vote.
Well...I'm sure that is more than enough for some of you to digest. Everyone keep up the good work and keep fighting for the little guy to take down the man!
The Nut...
are you still waiting on an answer from "Dance" regarding Thad Matta and Joe Maddon, like I am? He still hasn't addressed his own "liar, hypocritical, and fraudulent" statements. And who is the fraud?
Some connections but what do you want to believe? I choose to wait until the regular season to make my own decision. Nothing personal but I have been with this team since the Nippert days. Yes we have had a bad period but we could be the Browns or the Saints.
