Bob Castellini promised a world championship, trading Adam Dunn for Dallas Buck, a freaking single "A" pitcher does not bring winning baseball to Cincinnati. Okay, there are two players to be named later but the Reds so far have not indicated that they are of high quality. Oops, I forgot Buck had Tommy John surgery. (Here's the press release.) The story was updated now to include assistant GM Miller's comments calling the three players, "quality players." Okay, but why so low key? Why not a news conference? This is a big move.
Before you think they got a ton of cash for 2009, guess again. GM Walt Jocketty said in the Cincinnati Enquirer that the free agent market is "not real strong." (Cincinnati Enquirer, 8-10-08, C-9 col. 2) That's the sign the Reds probably won't do much about it.
Mr. Castellini, please sell the Reds now. Find an owner who will do what it takes to put a winner on the field. I don't care if it's Rupert Murdoch, George Soros, or Mark Cuban.

NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD BUY THIS TEAM RIGHT NOW! What do they have to show off for the fans to come see?
