You might wonder, "Who the hell is Tim Hightower?" He's the offspring of the famous beat cop from the Police Academy flicks...not really. Who he is doesn't matter. What does matter is that he is the sleeper and reach of the year in most drafts. He is a big back, fast, and heck of a reciever which is what the Arizona coaches thought they were getting from the Edge. One problem, the Edge committed fantasy suicide 2 years ago when he signed in Arizona (the coaches just haven't discovered his 'goodbye cruel world' note yet lol). Hightower was unstoppable in big games at West Virginia and this former Spider could sneak onto the field and flash some serious out of nowhere numbers. Don't wait for free agency on Timm-aY!
The Matt Ryan Humane Society replaces Ron Mexico's Dog pound for the Falcons. Not sure if he'll signal the calls in from the sidelines at first or get under center. However, if you're Atlanta, why not play him in week 1? Ryan had a stellar college career and has shown a healthy arm, good decision making, and seems primed to have a decent NFL stay. One problem though: he's in Atlanta. Roddy White, Laurent Robinson, and Michael Jenkins are his wideouts, they cut Crumpler and are under a new regime. These are not the typical variables in a formula for fantasy success. Ryan is still worth a shot on draft day as his upside should get his name called early enough ahead of some grizzled vet.
Derrick Harvey was a wanted man on draft day as Captain Jack Del Rio surfaced from drafts end to get the Gator. Based on JDR's track record as a head coach and talent evaluator you got to think this kid could bring something special. Jacksonville's D is nasty and Harvey should be able to ease into the NFL with single coverage on the edge. Harvey could do decent in year 1 but that means 8 sacks, 50 tackles, and maybe a few turnovers. Not enough to pencil him into your starting lineup but as a keeper league worth a look at your #2 DLine spot.
