With the rainout there's not a whole lot that I want to talk about with the Reds (other than I'm glad we didn't have to watch that lineup) so I'm just going to ramble about some things I'm noticing in MLB....first of all the Yankees are now in last place! At 20-22 they are just 2.5 games better than the Reds. However, I'm sure that ESPN will still shove the "Yanks & Sox" down our throats for the rest of the summer....Arizona has the best record in MLB, but I guess it helps when Brandon Webb is 9-0....Reds fans can take solace in the fact that the only reason we are 7 games back is that the Cubbies have the 2nd best record in MLB....Sundays Reds/Indians matchup will feature the ERA leader from each league, get your popcorn ready....Indians also bring the AL's top hitter to town in Victor Martinez who's hitting at a .333 clip....not as high as Chipper's .418 that leads the NL....Lance Berkman is 2nd in the NL in AVG.,tied for 1st in HR, and leads in RBI with .389/14/42, glad to see it's not just the Reds he kills; although you do wonder if his stats would be as high if we weren't in the same division....Cincy native Kevin Youkilis is tied for 2nd in the AL with 8 HR....and finally, on a totally unrelated subject, what do you think of Jill Wagner (the Mercury commercial girl) ?
