    Cueto, Bailey updates

Monday, August 25, 2008, 02:03 PM EST [Reds]

    From the Reds:

RHP Johnny Cueto’s examination in Cincinnati today by team medical director Dr. Timothy Kremchek revealed a posterior strain of his right elbow possibly due to hyperextension of that elbow.

He will be examined in Cincinnati again on Friday and will miss his next start, scheduled for Saturday against the Giants.

Cueto left yesterday’s start at Colorado after 3.0 innings.

    And

RHP Homer Bailey’s examination in Cincinnati today by Reds medical director Dr. Timothy Kremchek revealed a mild sprain of the medial collateral ligament of his right knee.

He will miss his next start for Class AAA Louisville, scheduled for Thursday, and will be evaluated again by Kremchek at the end of the week.

And that reminds me, I gotta have my ankle looked at. That badboy is still killin' me.

I would not let Johnny pitch in another game this season!

Both (along with Harang) should be shut down

I agree the season has been long since over no sense in making the situation worse for next season.
