About Me:Listen live every weekday morning from 6 to 9.
As a child, Alan Cutler wasn’t good enough to play the game, so instead of following in the footsteps of his hero, Tracy Jones, he decided at the age of 5 that he wanted to be a sportscaster. In high school, on Long Island, Cutler grew up playing basketball with Billy Crystal. One of them was actually funny.
After graduating college, Cutler found a radio station in Farmington, New Mexico that was desperate for someone to do play-by-play. Cutman's first gig, making a big league salary of $100 a week, was doing little league baseball on an FM Rock station. Living over Snookers’ Pool Hall, Cutler experienced the beauty of Southwest.
Ten years later, Cutler was the only colorman on any major league telecast who didn’t play the game. After getting fired for breaking a major story on the Pirates TV Network, Cutler continued his job as a TV Anchor and Reporter.
Cutler is about to begin his 8th year as Host of the Cincinnati Bengals Radio Network. He also does sports talk on 700WLW on weekends, and is one of the hosts of the Cincinnati Reds Radio Network.
The Cutman is also the Sports Director and a reporter for the No. 1 TV Station in Lexington, Ky., WLEX-TV, and is the Co-Host of the Lex 18 High School Sportszone, the award winning Friday night program that Cutler started over 20 years ago.
Caller after the Ravens game believes it's now worse than when Shula was coaching the Bengals. WOW !
Browns fans have to be excited about Ken Dorsey PLAYING QB this week. Funny how Romeo's job is on the line. You don't hear a word about Marvin.
ET came strong to the mic this morning. He says the number one problem with the BENGALS are all the distractions. He puts Chad and Chris Henry as number one and that they have to go.
As far as the Bengals offensive line, the former Bengal All-Pro Corner said, "the interior line is soft." He adds, "this team can't block anyone."
So they needed the BCS to break the logjam in the BIG 12. My guy Mike Leach had a perfect line. Use the graduation rate of all three schools be the tiebreaker. He says Texas Tech would win !
Did you see Huggs over the weekend ? WOW is he big. Please, go on a diet. Heart problem and he looked as big as I can remember.
Kentucky's point guard play is so bad, it's ridiculous.
With the Bengals losintg 10 games for 39% of the time since they became a franchise, are they the worst professional sports team in the history of American sports ?

A TV Station in Tenn. tells me that the University is expected to put out a statement denying the story that Kiffin has been hired.
The same station says that their sources tell them that Brian Kelly and Mike Leach are the top two candidates to become the next coach at Tennessee.
There is a radio report that Leach has been interviewed.
Kelly told us earlier this week that he wasn't going to talk to Tennessee right now. That any school was going to have to wait, and if they didn't want to wait, that's ok too.

First of all....I want to wish everyone a great turkey time. And, yes, that includes all of you who don't agree or at times scream at the radio.
Take a minute to say thank you to a friend or loved one. And we all need to be thankful for what we have.
VERY happy for Krivsky. I like him a lot. He's back. This is from the Baltimore Sun.
The Orioles today named former Cincinnati Reds front office executive Wayne Krivsky as special assistant to Andy MacPhail, president of baseball operations. Krivsky has more than 30 years of experience in baseball operations and will be involved in all aspects of the Orioles' major league operations, including scouting, contracts and other baseball administration responsibilities.
Krivsky most recently served as special assistant to New York Mets general manager Omar Minaya during the 2008 season. Prior to that, he spent more than two years as executive vice president and general manager of the Cincinnati Reds.
His three decades of experience include nearly 27 seasons as an assistant or special assistant to general managers in the Texas Rangers, Minnesota Twins and Mets organizations, with scouting and player evaluation experience at all levels of development.
The 54-year-old Krivsky was born in Niagara Falls, N.Y., and is a 1972 graduate of New Canaan (Conn.) High School. He attended Duke University, where he played baseball for three seasons and earned a degree in management science in 1976

Pro Football Hall of Fame Modern-Era Semifinalists Announced
CANTON, OHIO - Four first-year eligible players, John Randle, Shannon Sharpe, Bruce Smith, and Rod Woodson, are among the 25 semifinalists being considered for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2009. The Hall of Fame's Board of Selectors chose the 25 semifinalists from the recently announced list of 133 preliminary nominees.
Although he has been eligible since 1999 this is first time that Roger Craig has been a semifinalist. Each of the remaining 20 nominees has been on the semifinalist list at least once prior to this year. Although no coaches are among the semifinalists, the list includes three contributors, Art Modell, Paul Tagliabue and Ralph Wilson.
The complete list of 25 modern-era semifinalists is as follows:
Bruce Smith, DE - 1985-1999 Buffalo Bills, 2000-03 Washington Redskins
Ken Stabler, QB - 1970-79 Oakland Raiders, 1980-81 Houston Oilers, 1982-84 New Orleans Saints
Paul Tagliabue,Commissioner - 1989-2006 National Football League
Steve Tasker, Special Teams/WR - 1985-86 Houston Oilers, 1986-1997 Buffalo Bills
Derrick Thomas, LB - 1989-1999 Kansas City Chiefs
Ralph Wilson, Owner - 1960-current Buffalo Bills
Rod Woodson, CB/S - 1987-1996 Pittsburgh Steelers, 1997 San Francisco 49ers, 1998-2001 Baltimore Ravens, 2002-03 Oakland Raiders
The list of 25 semifinalists will be reduced by mail ballot to 15 modern-era candidates. That list increases to 17 finalist nominees with the inclusion of the two recommended candidates of the Hall of Fame's Seniors Committee. The Seniors Committee nominees, who were announced in August, are Bob Hayes and Claude Humphrey. Hayes, a three-time All-NFL pick spent 11 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys (1965-1974) and one season with the San Francisco 49ers (1975). Humphrey, a five-time first-team All-Pro defensive end, played with the Atlanta Falcons (1968-1978) and Philadelphia Eagles (1979-1981).
The results of the modern-era reduction vote to 15 finalists will be announced in early January.
To be considered for election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, a nominated player or coach must have been retired at least five years. A contributor, who is a nominee who has made outstanding contributions to pro football in capacities other than playing and coaching, may still be active in his pro football career.
Although there is no set number for any class of enshrinees, the Pro Football Hall of Fame's current ground rules do stipulate that between four and seven new members will be selected each year. No more than five modern-era nominees can be elected in a given year and a class of seven enshrinees can only be achieved if both senior nominees are elected.
The Class of 2009 will be determined at the Selection Committee's annual meeting on Saturday, January 31, 2009, in Tampa, Florida the day before Super Bowl XLIII. The election results are announced immediately following the meeting at a press conference at the Super Bowl media headquarters.
that means that if the sugar bowl takes the bearcats or pitt then the orange bowl gets the non bcs undefeated school. but if the sugar bowl takes the non bcs undefeated school then the orange bowl will take the big east champ
THE BIG EAST IS LOCKED TO A BCS SPOT NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!
Cutman, what the HELL is going on here?
This was put out AFTER last night's uc win, by the BCS as to how poll brakedowns will fall, assuming all these team win out (of course) Comment: The ACC champion is locked to the Orange Bowl and we project Boston College will claim that honor. In the ever changing ACC, the Eagles need to win their last game -- vs. Maryland -- and then beat either Georgia Tech or Virginia Tech in the conference title game. The Orange Bowl gets the last pick in the BCS bowl selection process and will end up with either UTAH or Boise St. as one of the undefeated non-BCS squads, the other non- BCS school undefeated will play the Alabama or Florida loser in the Sugar Bowl, the Big East champion, would get the best non BCS bowl still available.
Hey Alan, how bout those Bearcats! I do not remember your exact words three and a half weeks ago, but you said to the effect UC can't/won't beat WVU, Lou, & Pitt. Well they did, and I'd like to hear your thoughts.
GUYS, GUYS, I'm as pissed about this as much as the uc fans should be, was just listing to a local pitt sports talk show and the question came up about the big east champion and the BCS bids, what I have been saying is 100% CORRECT! How can this be? if you go read the bilaws of the BCS selection choices they are as follows, the LAST BCS game has an ATOMATIC bid to the ACC CONF. CHECK the other bid will go out to the BIG East winner, UNLESS there is an undefeated NON BCS school, and the big east winner ISN'T undefeated, and or RANKED in front of the NON BCS SCHOLL, the big east fall short in both catagories! TOTAL CRAP!
THIS SUCKS for BOTH PITT and the uc winner, this from CBS sportsline:
Comment: The ACC champion is locked to the Orange Bowl and we project Virginia Tech will claim that honor. In the ever changing ACC, the Hokies will win their last two games -- vs. Duke and Virginia -- and will hold the tiebreaker over Georgia Tech and North Carolina to win the Coastal Division and set up a possible rematch with Maryland. The Orange Bowl gets the last pick in the BCS bowl selection process and will end up with either an undefeated non BCS squad or the Big East champion.
This means either UTAH, BOISE ST. and or BALL St. WILL ALL go before the big east Champ because of there overall record, what a bunch of CRAP!
UC fans (and most Cincinnati sports fans in general) will continue to call out opposing teams fans while not even filling their own stadium. Please stop. When did we become such whiners? Thats all it is. All fans can be difficult. Yes, Bengal fans too. Its always something about Cubs fans, Steeler fans, now its West Va fans...When does it stop? Just give it up and root for your team. To have tix available for the Pitt-UC game you should be ashamed.
Actually, OSU has every reason to treat UC differently than any other D1 school. UC is the little brother of Ohio in terms of college football, and Ohio State losing to UC would be huge blow not only to the ego of the program, but to the future local recruits.
In the past, UC has given Ohio State decent competetion. And that was before we were any good. You can bet that Kelly would have that team fired up for that matchup. Let's just hope we have Kelly around long enough to have a matchup against Ohio State.
I hate Buckeye football fans more than I hate UK basketball fans. Overrated teams, smug fans.
Honestly, UC was beat by 3 TDs in Columbus in 2004 by the weakest Buckeye team that Tressel has had. The 2002 game was great and UC played their hearts out. But the last time and Ohio team beat the Buckeyes was like 1915 or something. And the OU game this year featured a Buckeye team without Beanie Wells and Pryor wasn't playing much at the time. It was an obvious look ahead game with USC being the next week. Do you think OSU wanted to be playing OU? The game was close until OSU woke up and realized the needed to make some plays.
Like I said, I'm a UC fan and I want them to be on OSU's level. But until they sustain success, OSU has no reason to look at them any differently.
butt whipping, really John, is that what you call the last two games btw. UC and OSU? that's a good one! Did OSU whip OU's butt this year too? I know a win is a win, but a butt whipping is something entirely different than what OSU has given UC of late...a beating YES, butt whipping NO
John, why should we care if OSU takes UC seriously? These teams are in different conferences and please don't tell me UC aspires to be anything like that school. UC is on its way up and OSU and the whole big 11 is on its way down.
OSU afraid??? Are you serious? OSU has no reason to treat UC any different than the other D1 schools in Ohio. Wait every couple of years, get your butt whipped, collect your check. That's the role of Ohio schools against the Bucks. Until UC proves that they aren't just a flash in the pan, there is no reason for OSU to try and form a rivalry with them. One victory over WVU does put UC on a level with the Bucks. I'm a UC fan and I realize that we have to maintain this success in order for OSU (and others around the country) to take us seriously.
no t.d. that is not what that means
Brianthat means that if the sugar bowl takes the bearcats or pitt then the orange bowl gets the non bcs undefeated school. but if the sugar bowl takes the non bcs undefeated school then the orange bowl will take the big east champ
