    Carson

Tuesday, November 25, 2008, 09:35 AM EST [General]

It's not about Carson playing this year.  It's about Carson being 100% for next year.  It's simple.  Why everyone doesn't see it that way amazes me.

Glad to see that Mick is playing 10 players.  So, after all this time, he's finally starting to do what he's always wanted to do.

Wonder how loud Mick got at the half last night after Coastal Carolina shot 53% in the first half.  Bet that was a fun experience for the players...hearing Mick's half time talk.  Second half ?  UC allowed them to shoot only 23%.

    Like X's toughness.

Patrick Patterson looked great last night for UK, but they played a bunch of midgets.

Frostee Rucker goes on the IR because of a hammy problem.  All he did was run hard to make a tackle.  Shouldn't football players do more running ?  Do you remember this many having hammy problems 20 years ago ?

Remember Hal Morris ?  Terrific singles hitter ?  He's now a scout for the Pirates.

Great stuff.  Have you ever heard of this ?  Greg Robinson is going to reapply for his job.  This is his last game at Syracuse.  I can't remember anyone else doing this.  In other words, his record is awful which is why he got fired, but he believes the winning is around the corner.

Nice of the REDS to talk to Rafael Furcal, but who thinks they will spend the $$$ to sign him ?

Brian Kelly is terrific.  He says "I stunk too."  He was talking about the loss to U Conn.  But, the day after the loss is where Kelly thought his team hit a new level.  He liked their look in the eyes when they showed up to practice.

    POOOR Cleveland

Monday, November 24, 2008, 05:40 AM EST [General]

Quinn was mad he was pulled as QB.

Jamal Lewis ?????'s the play calling again

Running back Jamal Lewis, who ran only 10 times but averaged 5.8 yards, questioned offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski's play-calling again.

Best way to get a coach fired normally is an empty stadium.  It was around half in the 4th quarter of the Browns game.

    Columnist saying Crennel is toast.

Looks like there might be lots of changes in Cleveland.

Looks like there will be few changes in Cincy.

    Both franchises aren't winners.

Each franchise goes about their business in a different way.

    The result is the same.

But, in Cincy, Marvin gets another chance to fix the ship.

In Cleveland, the shot clock is running out on Romeo.

By the way,  X for this time of the year is very good.  Very athletic.  Holiday is going to be very special.

Who is making plans for a UC bowl game today, that never thought they'd go ?

Did you think about what I wrote yesterday ?  If Phil Fulmer had Tony Pike, he'd still be the Tennessee coach.  Tennessee had what one major recruiting service called the no. 6 class for next year and they still dumped Fat Phil.  And, some of those recruits will now go somewhere else.

    UC

Sunday, November 23, 2008, 04:46 PM EST [General]

Hats off to UC.  I didn't think they would beat all three,WVU U of L and Pitt before this stretch happened.

The way Oklahoma destroyed Mike Leach and Texas Tech, it makes the UC loss to the Sooners not as bad.

Funny thought....I'm watching Tony Pike last night and I'm thinking if Phil Fulmer had him as his QB, he wouldn't have lost his job at Tennessee.

On wide outs.  A must read.  Joe Kapp was one of the toughest QB's in his day.  This might make you smile.

They just don't know who they are," former Cal and Minnesota Vikings quarterback Joe Kapp said. "They know they're better than defensive backs because if you can't make it as a wide receiver, you become a defensive back. And they're not running backs because they're not getting the ball 15 times a game. They're lonely.

SO, what is going to change with the Bengals.  You know, they cold dump some vets, go very very young......be under the salary cap next year which could make up for the beer sales that might be down if the Bengals have another bad year.

And what is Marvin trying to say ?  One thing is obvious, he is fed up trying to get guys who don't want to listen....to listen.......

I'm not saying I'm on the hot seat. I have a responsibility here. We are not playing well offensively. We dropped two passes (at Pittsburgh). We missed assignments in the running game. We missed tackles defensively. These things happen every game, but when you lose a division game, a game to the Steelers like that, they hurt more

    Cancer ??

Friday, November 21, 2008, 07:30 AM EST [General]

ET came strong to the mic.  Former Bengal All-Pro cornerback Eric Thomas has a great deal of respect for Chad the player. But, when it comes to Chad and what he does to the team, ET surprised me by going this far.

"Cut the cancer out of the team," says ET.  And, he said it more than once.

ET says get what you can get for Chad and just move on !  ET compares Chad to Carl Pickens and his negative effect on the team.

    Hung Over ?

Friday, November 21, 2008, 07:06 AM EST [General]

Do you feel hung over after not only a night game, not only a loss, but the Chad mess ?

Chris Crocker......how in the world did he not have a job.  What a hit on Santonio Holmes.

Are you worried that the Bengals will make yet another bad decision.  After what you saw last night don't you want AC to start again at left tackle.  If Levi Jones is healthy, that's nice for Levi.  How in the world do you not start Anthony Collins against Baltimore.

I have ZERO confidence that the BENGALS WILL DO THE RIGHT THING. Do you ?

Ditto for Nate Livings.  Is it possible that a lot of the offensive line problems can be solved with Collins and Livings ?  And when Whitworth comes back, you can see him playing right tackle next year because they won't want to pay Stacey Andrews the BIG BUCKS.

I'm not saying that the Bengals were going to win, but '4' plays, '4' makeable plays were huge.  Glenn Holt's '2' drops.  Especially the first one.  Bengals have BIG MO.  He's wide open !!!  Then on the next series, Hines Ward catches a 37 yarder.

Throw in David Jones missing a pick in the opening series and Leon Hall's missed pick, and who knows what could have happened.

As soon as we knew Chad was out, I knew TJ was not going to have a good day. Quickly said it in the pregame show.  Even with an off-season, Chad takes a lot of attension from the defense.  Now, TJ gets

e mail of the day....i don't believe this, but it is an out of the box theory. interesting...

     Hey all:

Has anybody ever thought that there could be other reasons why Chad was deactivated for last nights game?  I love the fact that he was sent home.  I prayed that they would have traded him before the draft and I still wish that they would send this clown away after the season.

Maybe though, just maybe.  They could have deactivated Ocho Stinko to show to the rest of the NFL that TJ can't be a number one (4 catches for twenty yards), thus lowering his price tag after the season.  I doubt this is the reason; it's probably just because Chad is just a clown.  It is something to think about.
