Looking for PUBLICITY ? OR LEGIT ??

Tuesday, September 30, 2008, 08:13 PM EST [General]

First of all, I have no idea if this is true or not......Lance had it on his blog first.

Sources have informed Pro Football Central that the Cincinnati Bengals are nearing toward a decision that could result in head coach Marvin Lewis being fired by the end of the week. The source also states that owner Mike Brown is also deciding upon whether to name assistant head coach Paul Alexander or defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer as the interim head coach. The Bengals are 0-4 for the first time since 2002, when they went a franchise-worst 2-12 that got coach Dick LeBeau fired.

My question is, how many big stories have these guys broken ?  And if it's not much, that doesn't mean it's not true, but it makes you wonder.  Think for a moment.  You think Mike Brown is going to leak something like this ?  NO WAY ?

    Zimmer wouldn't.

    Alexander wouldn't.

You think Mike talks to that many people who would leak this without his consent ?

I'm not ripping Pro Football Central, but.....it could be a great way to get ahead of a story.  And, if it ends up being true, they will tell you they told you about it first.

And, if it's a bunch of nonsense, it's not fair to Marvin.

    Anger Management ?

Tuesday, September 30, 2008, 08:04 PM EST [General]

This is not the only e mail like this....this week.

    Dear Cincinnati Bengals,

Today I changed my diet and I will no longer be consuming orange and black kool-aid.I have just completed my witness of what you would have me believe was a professional football game vs the Baltimore Ravens.  Since the fall of 1968 there have been very few games that you have played that I have not seen or heard.  I didn't think it was possible but you have finally convinced me to turn off the NFL.  Like many fans, I look forward to and make preparations every Sunday to be entertained by outstanding athletes.  But no more, I refuse to invest my time and sanity in an organization that only takes and rarely gives.  The ownership of your team is just as arrogant as the few players that make a bad name for the game.  You put a lousy product out there for consumers and I for one refuse to accept it any longer.  I am leaving the NFL because I cannot bring myself to cheer for any other city but my home city.  I am willing to take the risk that this is an impulse decision and your successful season will prove me wrong.  I'm sure you will not miss me and yet I will be the greater for having broken this habit.  I have reclaimed my weekends and in doing so I have ensured myself of quality time with my family, better health and additional savings because I can cancel that anger management course.  Thank you for giving me my life back.

    Bears Bust Now A Bengal

Tuesday, September 30, 2008, 04:22 PM EST [General]

DeDe is toast.  A hammy gets him on the IR.  So, the Bengals sign tailback Cedric Benson, a big time bust with the Bears, whose off the field problems pushed him out of the  Windy City.

Benson was a stud at Texas.  64 TD's.

It's worth a shot.  Why not ?  How could it hurt ?

This is an easy one to play Monday Morning QB, but you have to wonder if anyone inside Bengalland wished they kept Rudi.

    Lohse 41 MILLION !!!!!

Monday, September 29, 2008, 08:43 PM EST [General]

Why is it that it seems pitchers go to St. Louis and they get better ?  Could it be Duncan the pitching coach ?

Remember how REDS fans were happy for Kyle Lohse to GET OUT OF TOWN ?

Remember how he had trouble finding a job this year ?

Nothing like getting over 10 million a year for the next four years to stay in St. Louis.

    CBS STORY

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Kyle Lohse reached terms Monday on a four-year, $41-million US contract.

Lohse, 29, negotiated a $1.25-million US signing bonus and a no-trade clause, and will receive annual salaries of $7.125 million US in 2009, $8.875 million US in 2010 and $11.875 million US in each of the final two seasons.

The right-hander pocketed $4.25 million US this season, when he posted a 15-6 record in 33 starts with a 3.78 earned-run average and a team-high 200 innings. He would have been eligible for free agency after the World Series.

Lohse has made 30-plus starts in six of his eight major-league seasons.

He is 78-80 overall with a 4.67 ERA, six complete games, four shutouts and one save in 251 appearances (228 starts) for the Minnesota Twins, Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies and Cardinals.

Marvin One Foot Out The Door ?

Monday, September 29, 2008, 05:45 AM EST [General]

Why would Marvin start talking about the BENGALS blowing their timeouts to ATTEMPT to defend himself.  You don't think he wants other GM's and Owners to know it's not his fault the BENGALS STINK, DO YOU ??

What would Bill Parcells say if he and Zimmer were still in Dallas together and TWO timeouts were waisted because of the defense in the second half.

Do you think the BAR TO WIN IS HIGHER IN DALLAS ?

Perry can't hold onto the ball.

    Watson couldn't play.

    Dee Dee has a hammy.

You think the BENGALS need a running back ?

Cleveland's take on the Bengals being awful !

Behind backup quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who had not started an NFL game since his rookie 2005 season with St. Louis, the Bengals committed five turnovers and wasted timeouts.

TO is being an idiot in Dallas after their loss.  Some things don't change.  HMMMMM, might that comment also hold for Cincy ??

    YOU DESERVE BETTER !!

Let's talk about it this morning !  YOU DESERVE BETTER !
