Brian Kelly is very smooth. He danced around his name being tossed out there for potential job openings like a pros pro. That leads you to believe he will be able to handle the recruits who are concerned that he will be at UC for their four years.
Terrific column by one of the best in the South. It's how the BIG TIME sports programs have changed. Not that they will of course always admit it !!
Tennessee's players found out that Phil Fulmer was fired thru ESPN. BAD move by UT"s administration.
Brian Kelly is one of a number of names being tossed out there for the UT job. If he's called, why would he say no ?
You have to believe that Mike Thomas already has a short list of potential candidates to replace Kelly. And if Kelly is wanted by Rocky Top, there is no reason why UC can't continue to grow IF they hire the right coach.
I like Obama's take on college football. 8 teams !! Let's have a playoff !!!!
Confidence is a funny thing. You have to wonder if Fitzpatrick's has gone up a notch or two after FINALLY getting a win as a starting QB.
Not ready to give Cedric Benson a big time contract, but, it's time to watch closely.
Watched Kentucky score 111 against a weaker college team. The amount of points scored means nothing. They played really hard in a meaningless exhibition game.
Billy G. admits that good players might not getting playing time because there aren't enough minutes. He talked about the tremendous competition in practice which is music to any coaches ears.
There is a JC transfer named Josh Harrelson. Didn't play hoops until he was a freshman in high school. He's 6-feet-9 inches. He can really shoot. What was great to see is that this kid said he never thought he would be anything special until UK's coaching staff thought he could be. This kid is now so excited about his future. That's coaching.
How about Lap going off on Henderson for trying to rip into Whitworth eyes ?
How about Lap saying that Henderson was fighting like a girl. One lady called the post game show and was mad at that remark, then two callers, one 14, and one a teacher agreed with Lap on how girls fight.
Me ? I'm just glad Whit is ok......and that he called out his offensive line before the game.
How about Fitz at times throwing the ball early on the break. To bad he missed Chad who was wide open for a long TD. A little more air on those throws.....please.
How about Chad kissing Marvin and Fitz ?
How about for a moment not wanting to rip the Bengals and enjoying your morning coffee and the conversation. Can that happen for at least a day ??
Jags are favored by 7 1/2. Overall, the Bengals are 2---6 vs. the spread, and with Fitzy they are 0---4 vs. the spread.
With all the talk of Mike SIngeltary dropping his pants in the locker at the half of the 49ers game last Sunday, it will remind others of the motivational maneuver by Jags coach Jack Del Rio. He once put an ax and a tree stump in the locker room to reinforce his ''keep chopping wood'' mantra.
It ended up being a serious deal. Chris Hanson, a terrific punter slashed his leg with the ax and was lost for the season.
Our blogging machine, C Trent will be doing his thing before and during the game, throw him your two cents.
