Nothing Like Bulletin Board Material
If Georgia wasn't already up for this weekend's game against the elephants from Tuscaloser, they are now - more proof that Nick Saban and his staff are idiots!
We'll Keep the Bell - thanks!
My Alma Mater kept the Victory Bell for the third year in a row! I was at the UC/Miami game on Saturday night and got to watch my Bearcats bring home a victory. Tony Pike looked great and in his first start since his Reading days, he completed 20-24 passes for 250+ yards and three touchdowns. While Miami was able to hang on for a little bit, Mike Mickens made sure he lived up to his "All-American" billing by picking off a pass and taking it back 72 yards for a touchdown - thus ending any Redsquawk threat. Below is a couple of my favorite shots from the game (via The Cincinnati Enquirer)

Listen to that sweet sound of "VICTORY"
Larry Munson - A LEGEND!!
"It's Saturday in Athens." This saying will never be the same again as Larry Munson has decided to put down the headphones and step away from the microphone. There is nothing like listening to that raspy voice call the action taking place in Athens and various locations in the deep south (depending on where the Dawgs are playing). I knew this day was coming when Munson decided to only do home games last year. While many of you know the love that Cincinnati has for Joe Nuxhall, that is the love that Larry Munson gets across the great state of Georgia. He has been the voice of Saturdays in the fall for over 40 years and he will be the voice the Bulldog nation can tie together with Dooley's Dawgs and the numerous accomplishments of Mark Richt's young men. Perhaps this video that I have placed below will give you chills as well...they hear it every Saturday afternoon (or night) in Athens.

I am a Miami alum and I know the history goes way back before Ben to the "Cradle of Coaches". I was just teasing because a lot of UC alums want to drop the series now that they are "bigtime", but they still gloat about beating Miami. I root for UC the rest of the year and was happy for Tony Pike (my brother used to play summer baseball with him for years). I'm glad there is a contract in place to ensure the series will continue for quite a while. It's a fun rivalry and Miami has been known to knock off some of the "big boys" in the past :)
