    Fashion statement?

Can anyone explain to me why NFL players (usually cocky cornerbacks and receivers) don't fasten their gloves?   Does this serve a purpose that I'm not familiar with?   This makes about as much sense as the little 1/2 inch srm bands players wear above their elbows.

    UFC 90 Predictions (Main Card)

    Photobucket

For me, the real intrigue to this card lies in the undercard bouts. I told myself I was going to skip this PPV but who am I kidding?  I have no willpower.

    First televised bout

Rich "No Love" Clementi vs. Gray Maynard.  I'm really looking forward to this fight but it has the potential to be a stalemate.  Clementi's best shot is to put his BJJ skills to use early in this fight. I see Gray Maynard eeking out a 3 round split decision by controlling Clementi with his wrestling skills.

Tyson Griffin vs. Sean Sherk.  People execpting to see a barnburner with Griffin like they saw when he took on Clay Guida are going to be disappointed.  Again, this is going to be a 3 round split decision going in favor of Sean Sherk.   I expect the fight to take place on the ground for all 3 rounds.

Fabricio Werdum vs. Junior Dos Santos.   I hate to admit it but I have not done my homework and don't have a clue about Dos Santos.  Because of that, I'll go with Werdum with a 2nd round submission.

Thiago "Pitbull"  Alves vs. Josh Koscheck.  This is easily the fight I'm most looking forward too. Alves is been on a nice win streak over the past year and a half and he's also a physical specimen.  Josh Koscheck has continued to evolve into a complete mixed martial artist.  I can't stand the guy, in fact I have more disdain for him than I do just about any other professional athlete but the guy is a stud.  He's yet to show he can finish off opponents so I expect another split decision in his favor.   I would love to see Alves pound him into a bloody pulp though. What Koscheck lacks in humility he makes up for in ability and athleticism so I don't see him being controlled.   It would make my night to see Alves put him out onto q_ueer street.

Main Event for the UFC Middleweight Championship

Anderson "Spider" Silva vs. Patrick "The Predator" Cote.  Anderson Silva by first round decimation.  Cote has been on a roll lately but he's still a level below a fighter the calbier of Anderson Silva.  He's got a punchers chance but that's it.  I don't see any way possible that he can pull this off.  I hope it's atleast exciting because I have a feeling it's not going to be the most exciting card the UFC has put on.  A lot of fighters are matched up with guys that have similar styles.

After this story of Randy Reed being tossed around P'BS like a ragdoll, it's now giving everyone a free pass to call in and blog about every single drunk fan they've ever encountered at PBS.   Bengals Fans, Steelers Fans, Browns Fans, Ravens fans,   sports fans in general are idiots.

Imagine how pissed off and surly Edna Jester must be right now about her 15 minutes of fame being taken away.

It is an insult, I will agree. But we as fans have gorwn accustomed to mediocrity with the Bengals.

This team has the talent, and I believe almost the coaching staff (Bratkowski must go) to get over that hump.

My question is, how does this weaken two positions, like Dusty said. I'm with you that Brandon should stay at second, but the man's logic behind it is, well, stupid. It makes no sense to say that it would weaken two positions when really it would just weaken one, unless, like I said, you went out and acquired a high quality second baseman, which is more available than high quality shortstops. If the team remains as is, I agree, keep Phillips at second. But if you're relying on Alex Gonzalez, you're taking a chance he'll remain healthy. I hope he does. But my whole point is that Dusty doesn't have a clue, which I think he's proved on more than one occasion.

I have been a season ticket holder at PBS for 5 years. I am moved to tears when the fire captain of Cincinnati sings it( a couple times each year). About three years ago they brought out an eleven year old girl to sing and she has yet to be topped. Outside of that... ho hum. When did our national anthem become a rendition of American Idol?
