    All-Reds Killer Team (Active)

Wednesday, May 7, 2008, 01:52 PM EST [General]

During today's broadcast, Thom mentioned how well Ryan Theriot hit against the Reds.  I decided to put together a lineup based on how well active player**** against the Reds.  I took a min of 75 AB's

PS Player AB HR Rbi BA SLG OPS
    SS Theriot 117 3 17 0.359 0.515 0.927
    2B Utley 102 10 22 0.304 0.667 1.060
    LF Berkman 496 42 120 0.336 0.723 1.171
    CF And. Jones 327 31 79 0.297 0.642 1.026
    1B Overbay 159 8 30 0.428 0.732 1.229
    RF Bay 295 20 66 0.363 0.687 1.121

    Lineup Proposal

Thursday, April 17, 2008, 12:19 PM EST [General]

It looks like the current lineup isn't working.  EE isn't hitting, and Dunn isn't getting any pitches to hit (8-40, 17BB).

I've advocated that instead of being a #4-5 hitter that walks alot, I've said that Dunn is a #2 hitter with Power.  This would give Dunn the protection of a #3 hitter behind him

    Splits: (162 G Avgs)

            R  -  HR  -  Rbi  -  Avg  -  OBP  -  SLG
    #2  128    44     120     .278    .388    .544
    #4  102    39      93      .261    .379    .526
    #5  105    41     103     .239    .391    .515

    2B - Phillips
    LF - Dunn
    RF - Griffey
SS - Keppinger  (Get his bat into a place to drive in runs)
CF - Patterson  (Career says that he's not a leadoff hitter
3B - Encarnacion  (Have to stick with him for 100+AB's)
1B - Votto  (Potential to move up, but #7 lessens the pressure for this rookie)
    C - Anyone

    What if...

Thursday, April 17, 2008, 12:02 PM EST [General]

What if the Reds see Corey Patterson (at only 28) as their long term answer to CF?  If they really anticipate losing both Jr and Dunn (there haven't been any talks with him), then Patterson Stays in CF, Bruce plays RF, and they reevaluate Drew Stubbs at the end of the season.  Patterson is making 3.5M this year.  The Reds obviously like him.  Votto could play LF or Dickerson, or a veteran FA is Stubbs isn't ready.

I like what Krivsky is doing, and I think there is a method to his madness.  Perhaps he's not looking at '08, but more into '09-'10.
