Joey Porter: Right? I Don't Like Porter But He's Right About Matt Jones

Saturday, November 8, 2008, 02:52 PM EST [General]

I don't like Joey Porter at all but not because he shoots his mouth off but only because he was a Steeler and a Bengal killer, thats the only reason but with that being said I am glad he spoke up about the double standard in the NFL. How can Matt Jones still be playing without any reprecussion after he was caught with cocaine. Goodell is suspension happy and I don't agree with his tactics or most of the lengths of his suspensions but I do wonder why Matt Jones was not suspended or called to the NFL office Jones was convicted in drug court so the charge did not go on his record that's another whole story in itself. Ricky Williams was suspended more than once for Marijuana but why does Jones get to continue to play after a cocaine convictions we all have know about the stories of Chris Henry getting suspended for being drunk and vomitting in the car that he was a passenger in during the Odell Thurman incident that was alcohol not cocaine and he was suspended, Larry Johnson and countless others who were suspended by the NFL whether they were convicted or not. Why such special treatment for Jones this is a clear double standard that needs to be addressed because the NFL will have a huge problem on their hands if the rules apply to some players and not others. It is a double standard and it looks really really bad. I am glad Porter spoke up. Maybe if Ricky Williams and Chris Henry would have got caught with cocaine they would be suspended for life or suspended nonetheless for a significant amount of time even if it was their first offense. Can anyone explain the double standard.

Point The Finger In The Right Direction

Sunday, September 7, 2008, 11:47 PM EST [General]

Carson Palmer played horrible today and it has continued from the past two years. I'll give him 2006 because he was still coming off the injury but last year he was horrible and yet everyone belives that the receivers were running the wrong route which led to  all the INT's last year. When I heard everyone last week talking about how he hasn't worked with Chad and TJ I thought to myself "this is an excuse in advance for Carson" The announcers today were doing it too before and during the game. Stop making excuses for him he has played horrible and he is a below average quarterback nowhere near the top 5 or top 10 or 20 for that matter. He is not a very good quarterback and has not been since 2005 that is just the truth of course it is easy to blame Chad or Brat or Marvin but nobody is saying anything about how bad he has been playing for the past two years and now today. He has a longterm contract so he will be here but I think it's time that somebody posted the truth about who should be taking the blame for some of the losses especially today, he stunk up the place and he blew the game. Yeah I know he some pressure but he also had time to throw and he didn't make plays. Your franchise QB should make plays and Carson does not do that, and has not for some time

    Change Your Leadoff Hitter

Saturday, June 7, 2008, 04:18 AM EST [General]

Corey Patterson was not getting it done batting in the leadoff spot for a number of reasons so the Reds sent him down and now he is on the bench. Maybe 1530 Homer should do the same with their lead off man Cutman has got to go. He is unprepared, arrogant and he sounds stupid. I can't take it anymore I listen to a cd on my way to work my kids Pokemon cd is better than listening to Cutman in the morning. Cutman thinks he is smarter than the Reds front office but he can't even prepare for his own show. Do you remeber the performance by San Diego Chargers QB  David Rivers now how dumb is that, I remember yelling at my radio that day saying his name is Phillip  Rivers you dumb a$$. Cutman is horrible and hopefully the powers that be at 1530 will also change their lead off man

    Why is everyone bashing Griffey

Thursday, May 29, 2008, 11:32 PM EST [General]

I get so sick and tired of turning on radio and getting on this website and hear and read the constant Griffey bashing. That is all I hear or read Griffey this Griffey that I have read where he is called a prima donna, nothing could be farther from the truth. He works hard and plays hard and smart. I heard people complaining about his defense how he is hurting the team with his defense, I have not seen this yeah I did see him bobble and drop the ball acouple of weeks ago but I saw him run the next ball down in the gap and catch it I know he bobbled it but he got to it and caught it he can still cover right field and he still makes plays. Bruce is here so there is no need to try to make up reasons to get Griffey out Bruce is playing now so there is no need for that talk anymore. We are smart enough fans not to let talk show host dictate our opinion on subjects. Please don't give thath crap about the salary cap because you guys don't know half as much about the salary cap as you think you do. So worried about the poor millinaire owners having to honor the contracts they signed on Dunn and Griffey, but all I hear is get rid of Dunn get rid of Griffey but for what?.This week has been a good week fpr the team Bruce's debut and his success the two games they won the post went sort of like "The Reds did  great Bruce is god and the Reds are winning but I still hate Griffey and he needs to go. He is a hall of famer still and he is still a hell of a player and yeah he has lost a step or two but that is still better than some players best. He isa not respected in his own town you would think he was an **** who does not play hard or is out ther causing the team top lose games. Every team the Reds face throw a lefty out there and with not much right handed help in the line up he never gets anything to hit whether or not  some of you will admit it or not other teams and pitchers still fear him at the plate and and they should. The team as a whole is not hitting well but one thing is for sure he  is a future Hall of Famer and a great player and he will get his hits and RBI and I have never heard so many so called  fans want to give up their two biggest bats with not good reason. Wake up people and think for yourselves Bruce is here and playing well and the team is playing good except tonight so be happy with the wins and quit trying to find reasons to cry. I made the comment when Bruce came up "now what will they have to cry about" Appreciate the player that the Reds have and stop all the damn crying.

you are right, I remember JJ did get suspended for his first offense with pot, but I think Goodell comes down harder on the Bengals than other teams, especially during that stretch!

Jones should get at least 1 game, but as we have seen, sometimes he lets certain players/teams get away with more than other....total BS. Some players get nothing for a 1st offense, others get suspended. What started with good inentions (Goodell and these harsher penalties) has now turned into an inconsistent mess, the NFL will lose creditabiltiy if they continue with these inconsistencies. They should create some kind of punishment scale, so it's clear what offenses result in what penalites!

I hope you're right. I like the direction of the D, but they are far from ready to hold it down for the team.

Yeah, it's weird...and you are right, I would take a lot of QB's over Carson right now. I hope he can turn it around.

I think the biggest part of it is the frustration of the fans in this city. I think that Junior epitomized all of our hopes for a winner, and as his star has faded, so have our dreams and patience. Not saying that that is fair, just how I see it.
