Turn out the Lights, the Party's Over...

Sunday, July 27, 2008, 07:56 AM EST [Reds]

Yes indeed, Reds fans, you can hear Don Meredith singing.

Losing 2 of 3 at home,  to a team with (now) the 2nd worst road record in the National League is a great-big-flashing-blazing-garish neon sign that the good guys are less than a mediocre team.

Walt, start your jockeying for next year!!

How do the beat writers do it?

Thursday, June 12, 2008, 05:23 AM EST [Reds]

I like baseball.  I love the Reds, but after these two pathetic losses I must admit to being a little less interested in daily blogging than before.

How do the beat writers, day after day, put out?  Do even the players lose interest?

    I think I'll just

Good for Jr!, Bad Luck for the other Jr.

Tuesday, June 10, 2008, 05:19 AM EST [General]

    Quick 5 AM Notes:

Good for Ken Griffey Jr., what a load off his mind, (and by the way mean people suck! http://www.daytondailynews.com/o/content/shared-gen/blogs/dayton/cincinnatireds/entries/2008/06/08/my_ears_are_still_ringing.html

Bad for Jerry Hairston, Jr. busted his thumb.  the Reds SS position is cursed this year.

My prediction of a 3&5 roadtrip held true, for this team (and for me) that's pretty good.

    RE: Blog/Post problem

    Jun 6, 09:05AM

Hi, try going into the "manage blog posts" section and make sure your posts are set to "public" in the "Entry Status" tab.
For some reason they've been defaulting to Draft lately so they don't show up.

    Hope that helps.

    Wha? Homer Good, Junior Bad??

Friday, June 6, 2008, 03:31 PM EST [Reds]

    I HATE losing data!

What I tried to write before I screwed up everything and lost my post, chock-full of priceless pearls of wisdom, was this:

WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?

JUNIOR & JANISH with run-scoring errors?

A pitch-efficient Homer Bailey who was civil in the locker room ?

A Bailey that gave up only two earned runs and qualified for a real Quality Start?

The only way I know I'm not dreaming is that the Reds were shut out and Bailey's error is one that his participation in PFP may prevent.

Looking forward, I'm fearful that my prediction of reaching .500 ball on 7/27 is in serious jeopardy.  The Braves play so well at home, and are looking to return the favor of a sweep that I see this turning into a disastrous 1&7 roadtrip.

And, finally, the Cyclones are ECHL champs.  Cincinnati has it's first championship in any professional sport since the 1990 Reds, or am I still dreaming??????
