Taste of Cincinnati - Beer Lineup

Wednesday, May 21, 2008, 11:49 AM EST [General]

Beside the plethora of Bud booths:

Warsteiner (the U.S. headquarters are in West Chester)

Sam Adams (60% of all Sam Adams' beers are brewed on Central Parkway)

Spaten (no known local connection, but at least it's not Bud)

Great Lakes (No, Cleveland is definitely not local - but the Nut Brown is pretty good)

Christian Moerlein (Start with the regular lager, if you are familiar with it, try the OTR and the Barbarossa. Sad to say - but there is nothing special about the Lager House. It's just a regular beer, very good for a regular beer - better than the Sam Adams Boston Lager - but not as good as the Signature brew).

Mt. Carmel (Try the Copper Ale!)

There is one vendor that I can't make out from the event map. I hope it's Barrel House, if so try the Boss Cox - one a$$-kickin' brew, just awesome!!)

And, PLEASE, try Scott's BBQ. You will thank me for suggesting their wings (sauce on the side). Huge wings with the smoke flavor down to the bone. Also, She Who Must be Obeyed loves the Peach Cobbler.

Really, honestly, Taste is a wonderful event. Come on downtown, you'll love it!

imaredsfan, Will they have Hudy Delight? I think they had it last year.

I think they'll have Hudy Delight, www.hudydelightbeer.com , it was available at the Beer Barons Weekend.

Even though it certainly qualifies as a Cincinnati Icon, it was never my favorite. But, I caught the Wiedee-flu more than once!
