Cincinnati's Wegman Farm will showcase the Christian Moerlein Brewing Company Draft Horse Team and authentic beer delivery carriage.

A full slate of musical entertainment will be provided in the Moerlein Beer Garden throughout the evenings including Jake Speed and The Freddies whose music is inspired by Cincinnati folklore history.

Mowing the Grounds of the Domestic Manse

Sunday, April 20, 2008, 10:21 AM EST [General]

We've got a couple acres out here in Colerain, most of it vertical. I am the proud owner/operator of a "FrankenMower". It is 15 year-old Tecumseh engine on a two year-old Toro frame. This creation has a massive 20" cut.

It is not self-propelled, it is pork-propelled (as in my ample morphology).

So, I will be getting my week's worth of exercise today. Thanks to I will be able to listen to the game. I have to protect what's left of my hearing so I can hear "She's" commands.

PostScript: I have to give props to LotD for the html editor - I'm learning a couple commands (and that's not easy when one has a DOS brain in a Vista world).

    New Beer!

    Christian Moerlein Barbarosa

Very similar to Yuengling lager, just as good - if not better.  I have only had the Yuengling on tap and the Barbarosa in bottles.  So, it is probably not a fair comparison - but I have to say that the Barbarosa was very very close to the Yuengling.

I hope some day I'll be able to compare both on tap.  With some Spanish peanuts.  Spanish peanuts and a brat.  The brat would have mustard, and nothin' else.

Then I could move on to the Yuengling Porter - that's pretty good, too.  'Course that deserves another brat and some peanuts.

After the Porter I could move up to a Sam Smith's Nut Brown, the pinnacle of barley brewed beverages.  No brats for the Nut Brown, that deserves a nice slice of roast beef with gravy or a finely turned leg of lamb (or better yet, mutton).

    Ahhhh, the fantasy life...

I am purposely ignoring the game - maybe that'll take the pressurre off the guys and they can get a win.

    Avatar toubles over

Saturday, April 12, 2008, 05:08 PM EST [General]

Big Game James had it right.

For some reason, on two different computers in both Firefox & IE7, my avatar picture didn't refresh - even tho' LotD changed it.

Deleting temp files and cookies, then going back in fixed the "problem".
