The day after...

Monday, September 8, 2008, 09:23 AM EST [General]

Ouch... I didn't expect the Bengals to go 16-0 so a loss in its self isnt the end of the world. But DAMN!! Not sure I've ever seen the Bengals so lost and incompitent (thats a strong statement). Obviously Mikey is the owner/general manager so it all goes back to him...how do you blame yesterday on the owner/gm tho?? Just like its not Marvins call to hire/fire personel its not Mikey's job to coach and prepare the team. They did have a copy of the schedule right? They knew they were playing the Ravens and that they were supposed to prepare for that dfense and a bunch of rookies on offense right? I've always stood up for Marvin but after yesterday....nope. I put 100% of the blame on him and the rest of his seemingly incompitent coaches. When Carson Palmer even looks like a lost fool on the field (how many delay of game penalties did he have?) you know they werent ready for the game. Screaming about the dfense seems dumb, I didnt expect them to be any better than mediocre did you?? The offense didnt do a damn thing to help them out all day. I dont think there is an argument whether or not  this offense has the tools to be top 10...they've been better than that in the past. So it must come back to coaching. I think everyone is missing the obvious choice for headcoach next year. You all know him. He's been under Mikeys grooming wing for years and has always been 100% untouchable. Who could it be besides Bratkowski?? Is there really any other choice you could see Mikey making!? I've been doing some investigating and I'm pretty sure he's married to Brown's adopted daughter (could there be any other explanation) so this move would complete Mikey's heirarchy of incompitence at PDS. Thats right the whole worthless family will finally be in place. While I'm absolutly disgusted by yesterdays performance I'm not ready to give up on the season yet...I dont think any real fan is, just the losers who are biching even when things are going ok (not meant as a personal attack just dont understand why you bother following a team you cant say anything halfway positive about even before the season starts). Tho If they play the same way next week I may have to revisit that stance. All of you people who are screaming that anyone who buys tickets to next weeks game is stupid..well being that the entire season is already sold out ...seems like we arent exactly the stupid ones in this conversation...try to keep up with the subject you are talking about!! Finally while I despise the way Mikey runs this team, you dont REALLY want the NFL to step in and force him to run this team a certain way do you?!?!?!?!!??? Last time I checked this is America and not China. Mikey may be running a shty business but it is his business and he has the right to run it however he sees fit. Thats one of the great things about capitalism and the U.S. last time I checked. We dont have a commie govt telling us how to run our businesses or how to live our lives. At the end of the day business is driven by customers and revanue...when they stop coming in he wont have a choice but to either change his ways or sell. Sorry for the economics recap but there seem to be a lot of ignorant...sorry misinformed (I'm trying to work on being more P.C. since many of you seem to be so damn sensative ha) people. Now if you think the NFL should set certain guidlines for ALL of it's owners to follow then we could have a very productive conversation....

    Sometimes sports just dont matter...

Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 10:57 AM EST [General]

I love sports...but something bigger has happened.. You wont see it on the news, I've been watching. Havent even seen it on the ticker at the bottom of the news. The Al Ambar Province is about 1/3 of Iraq and includes the cities Rammadi and Fallujah. If you have paid any attention to the news over the past few years you have an idea about how bad these 2 cities were. Well the US military has officially handed over the entire Ambar Province to the Iraqi Army and Police. This is huge. After personally spending about 6 months in each city clearing ied's off of roads for coalition and Iraqi's alike there are no words that can truely convey the amount of gratification I feel today. This thing is nowhere near over but this is a true milestone and the fact that it isnt seeing any time whatsoever on the cable news channels is bs!! Thank you to everyone who has served in Iraq and to everyone who supports us. In a country where good news is no news getting positive letters, food and other supplies (that we all take for granted every day of our lives and will never truely miss until you are in the middle of the desert and there isnt a walmart down the street..). Specifically tho thankyou and congratualtions to the entire 478th Engineering Batallion (Army Reserves based in FT. Thomas, yep we're all local) who recently returned from a year long deployment  where we were responsible for finding every ied in that damn province. Happily we all came home...tho none ever the same.....

Marvin just got traded to the Raiders...

Wednesday, August 20, 2008, 11:24 AM EST [General]

Omg, he was traded for Oakland's 2009 conditional 3rd round draft pick. They will be bringing him in as their head linebackers coach. Oh how the mighty have fallen.. You guys called it!! I was wrong. I'm a man and when I'm wrong I'll admit it. A source said that late tuesday night Marvin decided that he was tired of Mike Brown (owner, general manager) making personel decisions without having Lewis' (head coach) full support 100% of the time. After storming out of Paul Brown Stadium Lewis' agent started making calls. Some time after 10pm lewis recieved the horrible news...it seems that most professional sports teams have a general manager who's job it is to hire and fire players.  Somehow it seemed that having as much input as Marvin had with Mike Brown was actually a luxury bcs there was no middle man between the coach and the money.. At this point Marvin had no other chioce and took the only offer he recieved. To think, all of this bcs Mike Brown brought Slim the anitchrist back to Cincinnati.. Thankyou to certain media outlets who feel it is necessary to continually bombard us with relentless negative bs. There is another preseason game coming up in a few days and the reds are playing a lot of young guys..can we move on. At this point can we enjoy the guys who are playing and start this whole conversatioin up again either when he gets in trouble or at the end of the season when we can talk about what actually happened.

    ATTN: A CALL TO ACTION

Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 02:23 PM EST [General]

So this whole Chris Henry thing along with all the crazy reaction got me thinking.. Something that has always pissed me off is how famous people live by different rules than the rest of us. Its not even necessarily rich people. Americans are obsessed with fame and put famous people on such a petistool that they can do whatever they feel like doing with little to no consequences. It ranges from a football player's trial or even his sentence being pushed to the end of the season all the way to stars getting away with murder..literally.  Its bullsht. Being famous should in no way put you above the rules that society has set. I think most people have just come to the conclusion that "that's just the way it is". Yeah well this is America and last time i checked if we dont like a rule then we have the option of voting about it. I mean it must be a rule bcs it happens over and over again right. It could go something like this:

Proposition 745- The people propose that simply being over a level of "B" fame will no longer give any kind of special consideration in an American court of Law.

Sorry...I just cant talk about Slim anymore. He's back hopefully he helps

    dirty olympics...

Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 10:57 AM EST [General]

My wife thinks that I have unhealthy affection for sports and she probably isnt wrong.  If there isnt a specific game on then my tv is tuned to one of the variations of espn. Its so bad that we are getting a second hd for the living room so she can watch regular tv and I can watch a silent game. Nope never gonna change. SO, obviously I've been watching the olympics like a fiend. They have been great. But am I the only one who has gotten to the point that I cant even enjoy them anymore? How many world records have not only been beaten but shattered..I mean seriously. If half as many records were being broken in baseball or football everyone would be screaming the same thing.. BARY BONDS! BARY BONDS! EVERYONE'S ON STEROIDS! BREAKDOWN OF SOCIETY! AHHHHH....but for some reason NOONE has even mentioned it on a natinal level. I'd really like to believe in the purity of the olympics, adn i normaly do. I think the tipping point for me was seeing the Jamaican male sprinter destroy the entire heat in the 100m finals. He won by 3/10 of a second (if my memory serves me right) after looking around and pretty much stopping after 80 meters. In an event where .1 seconds is an eternity he could have easily beat the world record by half a second if he would have kept running. Would it really be that outlandish to wonder if the commie Chinese govt may be pumping some hgh into the olympic village caffateria? What would make China look better than this being the most prolific/record setting olympics ever that will be talked about at every olympics forever.. Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to watch and chear for my country in every event. I'm just saying....
