    Different Team!

Wednesday, May 14, 2008, 10:21 AM EST [General]

The last two nights has been a brand of baseball that has been missing around here for a long time.  MANUFACTURING RUNS?  Dunn putting the ball in play to drive in runs.  EE all over the field.  Freel-  He is the ultimate sparkplug.  He will drive you crazy being overagressive, but plays like his infield hit last night fired up the entire team.

    Big Day Today?

Saturday, May 10, 2008, 01:00 AM EST [General]

Can the Reds get to Santana at all?  He has given up some Hr's this year.  I am worried that their lack of patience will get them in all kinds of trouble against his change.  Looks like Griffey and Phillips may be out.  We'll see.

    Horrible Baseball!!!

Saturday, April 26, 2008, 11:07 AM EST [General]

Watched the entire game last night.  First of all, horrible lineup.  Why can't they stack all righties until they find a way to score against lefties?  Kepp at first, Hairston at short, Phillips, Freel, EE, all the righties.  I can live with that.  But how about the approaches our hitters took last night.  First pitch swinging, lazy fly balls, weak pop ups, etc.  They were swinging at so many pitches that were out of the strike zone high.  No choice but to pop up.  Give Sanchez credit- he was nasty, but we could have watched a lot more pitches and gotten deeper in the count.  What the hell was Ross doing chasing Griffey's overthrow?  Harang was backing up.  Once Ross left home plate, there was nobody to cover.  If Ross stays put, it's an easy out at the plate.

Great outing by Harang.  He really cruised almost the whole game.  Hopefully Brandon realized he doesn't have to swing out of his shoes to hit a home run.  That was a short, quick swing and the ball jumped off his bat.  The ball doesn't travel well there, and he got it out of there easily.  BP only has 6 RBI's this year???  Wow.  Hopefully last nights AB was  a start!!

I would really like to see Phillips leading off or batting second.  I think it would force him to shorten his swing.

Time for the Big 3 to Step UP!!!!

Tuesday, April 22, 2008, 01:55 PM EST [General]

I have watched or listened to a lot of the Reds this season.  I am happy about our new guys, especially the new pitchers.  Even though they have lost a lot lately, I am not ready to panic.  We have been in almost every game, rarely getting blown out.  I am concerned about the big guys.  Not Griffey so much, but Dunn and Phillips.  Phillips is taking way too many big swings and missing.  Way more than last year.  I think he will be fine, but he is not going to break out with one swing. RELAX guys!
