Tommy John surgery? Wow that hurts. Everyone wants to now how he got hurt(we don't even know if he is hurt at this point). Dusty Baker is who most people are blaming and I think that he is to blame. In fact the whole Reds organization is to blame. I'm not going to say it was the relief appearance in San Diego that did it. Starting pitchers throw everyday, just not in game situtations. But bringing Harang back to pitch on his normal day? Why? That is two starts and a 4 inning relief appearence in a weeks time. Why didn't they push him back to Saturday against the Braves, which oh by the way was a game on Fox that hadn't had a starter named. (If you remember it was at this point that Matt Belise was in the rotation and eventually sent down). They ended up pitching Harang on short rest instead of a well rested Josh Fogg. Fogg got the start on Saturday
Is the reason that Harang is pitching so poorly because he is hurt? I can't answer that but let's hope not. A couple of this that I have noticed in his starts. He doesn't pitch inside. Everything that he throws is away, away, away. You can not pitch this way at the high school level, let alone the major leagues. If I can see a pattern in his pitches, I'm sure the hitters see it as well. He throws too many strikes. I'm not saying that I want him to walk more people. I just think that hitters are digging in against him. Get the hitters off the plate. If that means missing inside more often, then by all means do it.

Nah, that was clean. Unfortunate result, but clean. Even the guy who replaced Rivers on D said it was a clean hit. What wasn't a clean hit was the hit Jackson put on Ward after his TD. Hence the flag.
Dick VernonI'm sure we'll never agree on this but Steeler fans and Bengal fans never agree on anything anyway. lol
