Merril on Chad
ESPN's Merrill Hoge said, based on discussions with the Cincinnati Bengals, he thinks they would only trade receiver Chad Johnson if someone gives up the following:
2 first-round picks and an established player.
And the Bengals would want $5 million back from Johnson in previously-paid bonus money.

Drew on ESPN
ESPN: Will Chad be traded this weekend?
Drew: "I hope so......but in listening and talking to the Bengals...the Bengals say they like Chad and want Chad. I've have learned they have shot down two #1's for Chad. When you turn down two #1's for a player, that tells me you like that player and are going to take care of them. I look forward to that."

Advice for Bob and Walt
Be very careful. Think hard about your next move. It better be a good one. This team is on the emergency room table....and the paddles are being charged. You are about to lose your fringe fan base for this season.....and it's still April. Season ticket holders are stuck. But what about everyone else? The school year is done in a month. Are mom and dad taking little Billy and Sally to watch this? Gas prices are off the charts. Think people are jumping in cars in Indy, Lexington, and Huntington to make the drive? Dollar dogs and half price tickets won't cut it.
That light up ahead is showing the way to an eighth consecutive losing season. Proceed with caution.

Glazer on Bengals pick at #9
FoxSports
9. Bengals - USC defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis. Their biggest need gets filled by a tremendous prospect. They had Derrick Harvey as their guy as early as late this week but since moved to Ellis. Also like Illinois running back Rashard Mendenhall.

Bailey struggles
Louisville Courier Journal
Homer Bailey was roughed up in the third inning, allowing home runs to Andrew McCutchen and Kevin Thompson, as the Louisville Bats lost to Indianapolis 4-1 last night. Bailey (3-2), the Cincinnati Reds' No. 1 pitching prospect, allowed six hits and four runs -- all earned -- in six innings, striking out six and walking three.

Remember this former Bearcat?
KC Star
Martin, who formerly served under Bob Huggins as an assistant coach at Cincinnati before K-State, offered Herrera a scholarship to Cincinnati the day after Huggins hired him in 2004. Herrera redshirted at Cincinnati, but never played for the Bearcats before transferring.

Marty, apparently this team's not going to hit
What a joke. Another wasted pitching performance. 0-9 in game one of series now. Shutdown on 4 hits and 10 k's by Jonathan Sanchez. Beaten by Sampson, Cassel and Sanchez in the last three, scoring a combined 7 runs? The Reds have scored 3 runs or less 14 times in 24 games. No offense, missed cutoff men, bad baseball.
Never I have I been so saddened to be right about a team. Now 9-15.
Still think it's early?
Call up Homer and Jay.....does it really matter?

Fired Krivsky blind to reality
Tracy Ringolsby, Rocky Mountain News
Krivsky was not receptive to the hiring of Jocketty, and the word was that instead of trying to integrate Jocketty into the decision-making process, Krivsky shut Jocketty out of high-level talks, which Castellini took as a personal affront because Jocketty was his hand-picked representative. With the Reds struggling at the start of the season, again, Castellini decided to make a move.
