I'm done rooting for this embarrassing franchise. Since mediocrity is the best we could possibly hope for (and Mike Brown's wet dream), I'd just as soon see them go 0-16. Not that anything would change. Does everyone (that is, everyone except the Bengals "braintrust) realize that had we simply traded Chad Johnson and had someone from Lot D engineer the draft, fans would be dancing in the street because we'd have ended the day with
#7 from the Patriots - Sedrick Ellis. Of course only Mike Brown didn't see the Saints move coming. For our 3rd-rounder we could have traded with the Pats and landed the DT the Bungles so badly need. Still, at least Rivers was the logical pick if you were hell bent on staying at #9.
#21 from the Redskins - Rashard Mendenhall. Wow, a Three-fer! We unload a wrong side of 30, alligator-armed malcontent, we pick up a bell-cow running back, AND we deprive a division rival of getting him.
#46- Limas Sweed anyone? Trevor Laws? Listen, Jerome Simpson may turn out to be the next Jerry Rice, but if he does then EVERY single scouting service was wrong and the Bengals were right... Sorry, just spit up my drink on the computer at that one.
