Thoughts

Corey Patterson has officially changed my mind...a week ago I thought we had way overpaid for this guy, and now he seems like a bargain pickup...

For all the crap Wayne Krivsky takes for what he says and the way he does things, that guy has made some really good moves. He doesn't deserve the negativity...the product on the field is improving.

    Johnny Cueto - WOW!

Thursday, April 3, 2008, 03:35 PM EST [General]

I wish I could have seen the guy pitch. From what I could gather on the Online Gameday page on Reds.com, he was dealing.

During Spring Training, I heard so many people saying that the Reds should play the young kids and let them take their lumps. While I agree, I just want to point out that although Cueto had a pretty awesome outing today, he's gonna get banged around at some point. That's just the way it is with young kids in the bigs. Just be prepared to take those lumps, Reds fans, but in the long run we will reap the benefits of our much-maligned front office's drafting decisions!

Congrats on a great debut Johnny! Keep up the good work! Go Redlegs!

    Corey Patterson Makes $3 Million?!?!?!

Wednesday, April 2, 2008, 02:40 PM EST [General]

John Fay reports on his blog that according to USA Today, Corey Patterson makes a total of $3 million this year, as opposed to the $500k that was reported when the Reds signed him. Seems a little expensive for someone who has one of the lowest 2 OBP's in the Majors with over 3000 AB's.

1st Live look at the Redlegs

Wednesday, April 2, 2008, 01:55 PM EST [General]

So tonight will be my first of hopefully many Reds games this Summer. I'm excited to see what the Reds and their youngsters can bring to the table, and to see Bronson start this year off right for himself. It'll be worth braving the football weather to see my boys!
