    WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!

Friday, January 9, 2009, 12:24 AM EST [General]

The Gators went out tonight and proved that they are, without a doubt, the best team in college football. That defense was unbelievable. Charlie Strong is the best coordinator in the game and will be a big time D-I coach in a few years. His gameplan and playcalling was the single best effort I've ever seen. He got pressure all over Bradford all night. I think the offense was rather tentative especially in the first half. I assume that they were trying to be conservative and keep the ball away from the Sooners. Tim Tebow proved why he is the best player in college football. If I need a throw, give me Tebow over any other QB in the game. He deserved the Heisman and tonight, he showed why. In the second half, particularly the 4th quarter, he was unreal. Florida simply had too many weapons for OU. The speed was widely publicized. I think OU was fas enough, however Florida's speed depth was too much. Every skill player had a role and every one is just as fast as the next. I think the OU offense also folded under pressure a bit in the second half. They really hadn't been challenged like that all year. Even in the Texas game, they scored 35. It was an unbelievable game and the Gators are champs. The SEC is the most dominant conference in college football right now. It has been, unquestionably, the most dominant in the BCS era and the BCS, itself. It is arguably the best conference in the history of college football. Where are the SEC haters now? BTW, if Tebow comes back, Florida will win it next year. Remember, not a starter on D for the Gators is a senior... GO GATORS!!!!!!!!!!

    OU-Florida Stat of the day

Monday, January 5, 2009, 11:10 PM EST [General]

After Franks' comments about Tim Tebow being the 4th best QB that OU will face, I did a little digging. Oklahoma will have the 11th best defense that Florida will face this year. That is in both scoring defense and total defense. OU's defense is better that only Arkansas, The Citadel, and Hawai'i, and they're barely ahead of Hawi'i in both categories. As I was telling someone earlier, I could see a scenario with Florida winning somewhat easily (like LSU last year). If they can gget a few stops on defennse early and get a lead, they might win by two scores. If they get the lead, they can play keep away with Tebow, Moody, and Harvin all night.

    All Talk and No Action

check out the comments by Oklahoma CB Dominique Franks.

    http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/story/11223674

Tim Tebow is the 4th best QB that OU will face? Interesting. The SEC qb's aren't as good as the Big 12's? Also interesting. I'm not putting too much stock into it, though, as I remember in 2007, OSU was going to walk over Florida and last year, there was no way that LSU could hang with Ohio State because the SEC just wasn't that good. Dominique, I hope you remember those comments when Tebow blows by you and when he stiffarms you into next year. Good luck on the 8th.

    UC-VT

Friday, January 2, 2009, 12:45 AM EST [General]

I can't say that I'm all that surprised with what happened tonight. I predicted that VT would win. Other than UC's first drive, Tech absolutely dominated. I don't think UC won a battle at the line of scrimmage all night. Even on the couple of plays where they got to a Tech guy in the backfield, it was because of a mistake, not the UC rush. Honestly, this game really lived up to its "hype". This didn't deserve to be a BCS game. It should've been played on about December 27th. What happened to UC's "great" "high-octane" offense? Don't say that they were going against a great defense. Of the teams that VT played, East Carolina, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Nebraska, Western Kentucky, Boston College, Florida State, Maryland, Miami, Virginia, and Boston College all scored more than 7 on VT's defense. Furman scored seven, equal to the Bearcats' total. Only Duke failed to score 7 on this defense. Also, what happened to "NFL prospect" Tony Pike? He looked completely lost. He trew 4 int's (5 if you count the one that was taken from VT which was, in fact, an int) and all of them were bad. While I'm thinking about it, Brian Kelly needs to realize that when other coaches are yelling obscenities, they at least cover their mouth with the call sheet. I don't remember a time tonight that he was on tv that he didn't drop a couple of f-bombs. If he's going to go out and talk about how he's a family man and how is players are role models, he needs to practice what he preaches. All the country saw tonight was him dropping f-bombs like an idiot. If this truly was going to show the nation what UC football "is", it sure was a mess. The nation saw that, heard all the hype, and wondered what all the media fuss was about. It was a mediocre team beating a bad team. I think this will end the "elite program talk". Oh, this just in... Tony Pike just threw another interception.

Wow. I knew the Sooner pass defense wasn't good, but that's a heck of a stat. Either way, I like the Gators here. Coach Meyer passed through my dear old BG, so that's good enough for me.

maybe you missed it Geroge, but there is more to the UC expansion plans than just adding more seats......they are going to improve the game experience, which could lead to more fans coming if they don't have to wait in long lines, the place is more family friendly, etc. Maybe they are planning ahead, and anticipate the current growth trend, which should put them into an avg. at full capacity next year. Maybe your crystal ball was broke, but they have seen the avg. attendance increase signifcantly the last two years. If they don't start planning an expansion now, they could be years behind when it would be needed. You comments on this expansion reflect the typical shortsightedness/flawed logic that I would expect based on your other comments.

And my points stands, stop comparing UC to UK, what competition do UK sports have in Lexington? It is NOT a valid comparison for anything. The bottom line is that there were 2 home games while the Reds were still playing, and NFL football is popular, I'm not saying I understand why people support the Bengals, but they do...at least for now. I don't care that UK sells out every game and has no plans for expansion, that is their problem!

And the question remains, WHY DO YOU CARE WHAT UC DOES? Just stick to slobbering on the SEC and don't worry about UC!

one game (and there have been more than one) proves your statement wrong.....that is the BOTTOM LINE, YOU WERE WRONG WHEN YOU SAID THEY CAN'T GET 35K INTO NIPPERT. See, that would mean they have NEVER had a sell out, which is of course, wrong

I know it's hard for you to swallow, but you were wrong. They have sold out Nippert this year and I belive last year.

And I didn't bring SEC into the argument, that is usually you that does that.

Are you back tracking on your statement? here is my direct quote "If UK ever got a football coach that showed a lot of promise, a larger football school would come sweep him away as well. "

Your very next comment was "I don't think so Marc", after which you went on to talk about how UK has everyhing a coach could ever want and there's no reason to ever leave.......so which is it? Would a coach leave UK or not? Now you're on Mo's blog saying you didn't say that, than WTF are you saying?

Your piss poor example of a good (not great) coach does not equal what I was referencing in my original comment!

another thing troll, maybe Mumme didn't get swept away by another program because of the NCAA violations, ever think that may be the reason??? I'm sure youll look into that magical crystal ball and tell me how Franklin's book explains it differently. And honestly, I'm not that impressed by his resume, and apparently not that many other schools were either

there is no reasoning with you, if you honestly think UK is a top college football coaching job, you are either delusional, on drugs, or blindly loyal, maybe all of the above

there are a number of variables in this, but if a coach was successful and offered a top 5 job, they would probably leave UK for that top job

my point has been consistent throughout, YOU can't sit there and act like if a great coach emerged at UK (a really great one, better than your boy) that there are no better jobs for that person to take
