In the west-side of Los Angeles fight world, a world inhabited by bouncers, cagefighters, cops and special forces types, Mike Terry is a Jiu-Jitsu teacher who has avoided the prize fighting circuit, choosing instead to pursue an honorable life by operating a self-defense studio with a samurai's code. Terry and his wife Sondra struggle to keep the business running to make ends meet. An accident on a dark, rainy night at the Academy between an off duty officer and a distraught lawyer puts in motion a series of events that will change Terry's life dramatically introducing him to a world of promoters and movie star Chet Frank. Faced with this, in order to pay off his debts and regain his honor, Terry must step into the ring for the first time in his life.

Other notable MMA stars that have given acting a shot include:
    Bas Rutten

It's been reported that the EliteXC lost $27 million in 2007 alone.  EliteXC paid $3.25 million for "King of the Cage", $4.1 million for "MMA Limited", $400,000 for "Icon", and $1 million for "Spirit MC".  Overall, they are $31 million in the hole.  To help with the situation EliteXC started layoffs in January.  They have big money contracts with Kimbo Slice, Robbie Lawler, and the crowd favorite Gina Carano.  EliteXC recently signed a deal with CBS that will give them the first ever MMA event on network television.  Will this deal save the EliteXC and get them out of this huge debt?

    Bisping vs Leben Confirmed

Wow! UFC 85 has quickly turned from a card in trouble to a very, very, good card.  Just hours after a main event of Matt Hughes vs Thiago Alves was announced more good news is confirmed.  Michael "The Count" Bisping will square off with Chris "The Crippler" Leben at the O2 Arena in London, England on June 7.

Many have thought Michael Bisping, the light heavyweight winner of TUF 3, has been protected by the UFC.  Well, it seems that era is over.  Less than a week after his middleweight debut and TKO victory over the recently retired McCarthy Michael Bisping may have bitten off more than he can chew.  Chris Leben is coming off back to back wins including an impressive TKO of Alessio Sakara at UFC 82.  This will be a great fight added to a now impressive card.  London fans were obviously disappointed to hear of the injury to Chuck Liddell but are very excited to hear the news that Bisping will be back in England AGAIN.

Here is the current UFC 85 card:

    Main Card
    Thiago Alves vs. Matt Hughes
    Michael Bisping vs. Chris Leben
    Marcus Davis vs. Mike Swick
    Rashad Evans vs. James Irvin
    Brandon Vera vs. Fabricio Werdum

    Undercard
    Martin Kampmann vs. Jorge Rivera
    Thiago Tavares vs. Matt Wiman
    Thales Leites vs. Nate Marquardt
    Luiz Cane vs. Jason Lambert
    Roan Carneiro vs. Ryo Chonan
    Jess Liaudin vs. Paul Taylor
    Antoni Hardonk vs. Neil Wain
