ALL TOGETHER NOW.....

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Sporting News' Coaches on the Hot Seat....
The Bengals have won the stare-down with receiver Chad Johnson for now, but this team needs to turn things around in 2008, or Lewis' job will be in jeopardy.
Johnson's bizarre antics in the offseason were arguably the result of the head coach's incessant coddling of the star wideout. Such coddling has prompted locker-room resentment and whispers of a double standard for much of the past several seasons.
Then there's the defense -- or, more accurately, the eleven-man, orange-and-black sieve. Like former Ravens boss Brian Billick, a supposed offensive guru who presided over woeful offenses as a head coach, Lewis is a defensive specialist whose team can't play defense.
Things could change in 2008 with the arrival of coordinator Mike Zimmer. If they don't, someone will be hiring Lewis as a defensive coordinator in 2009.

THIS IS JUST AN OUTSTANDING POST
OK, so I can relate to some of the specifics, but if you've ever wondered why you continue to stay devoted through bad play and inept management, you can relate to this guy.

A REASON TO BUY "THE REAL WORLD" ON DVD
I stopped watching "The Real World" a few years ago. Basically, I only have so much time to watch spoiled idiots on TV, and since most of that time is spent watching sports, and "The Hills" occupies the rest, "The Real World" was squeezed out. Still, these pictures of Shauvon from the season they went to Sydney has me rethinking my policy.

GREATEST WRESTLING THEME SONG EVER.
I don't care what type of music you like, you listen to this whole thing, and you while find yourself dancing or performing some sort of gesticulation by the end. "Grab Them Cakes" is irresistable. Play, turn up loud, and watch your coworkers do the same.

I KNOW I'M SUPPOSED TO MAKE FUN OF THIS GUY
But I'm not. Most guys call a chick. When she doesn't call back, he calls again. And again. And he maybe sends a text. Then an e-mail. This dude makes an attempt. Perhaps an over-the-top attempt, and maybe he's a bit full of himself, but he makes an attempt. When she doesn't call back, this guy actually tells her off, and lays out what she's gonna be missing. More men should do this. Well played, Dimitri.

RANDOM CRAP
1. Anybody looking at what Kyle Lohse has done in St. Louis and thus taking the Reds to task for not attempting to sign him is not being honest. NO ONE wanted that guy back.
2. Gotten some e-mails thinking I'd pile on the Knicks for their pick in last week's draft. I won't, because for once, they don't deserve it.
3. Jeremi Johnson needs to made an example of.
4. Derek Jeter would not date Madonna.
5. I'm watching Floyd Reese on ESPN right now and I'm wondering two things....a) Why did we not know that Benny Parsons had a brother? b) Why has no team, despite him showing interest in working again, thought about bringing him in?

MY RETURN TO RADIO BROADCASTING. AND THIS IS WHAT I HAVE....
-Nothing like vacation stories. Why New Jersey Transit sucks and tales of the $11 beer.
-We are either entering the final month or final three months of the Junior era in Cincinnati. But he gave us one hell of a moment last night. Who else is surprised Dusty didn't ask him to bunt?
-Seriously, and this is gonna sound like nit-picking after a win, but Joey Votto has laid down one sacrifice in his career (in A-ball...hat tip to Trent), yet time and again Dusty asks guys who flat out aren't bunters to bunt.
-Has ever there been a bigger case of so many being wrong (I'm raising my hand) about a guy than Jerry Hairston? Legitimately, one of the cooler stories in baseball this year. He done enough to get you thinking about him being part of the team next year?
-The Top 153. One co-worker of mine takes umbrage with Beyonce being on the list. This woman...
-Roger Goodell is drumming up support for his plan to lower rookie salaries, but it's misdirected. He wants to take it to the players' association. Isn't it the owners who are doling out the money? When Roger accepted an $11 million annual salary when he got his gig, shouldn't he have proven himself as commissioner for a while? Isn't the fact that NFL owners are finding newer ways to siphon money from fans more of an issue? Isn't the fact that the league's officiating is as much a mess if not more than the NBA a bigger issue? The fact that nary a week goes by without a player being mentioned in the police blotter?
-Is this guy a loser? Is this higher on the dork chain than grown man asking another grown man for an autograph?
-This might be the funniest thing I've seen all year.
-Just a tremendous column by Doc. There's no one I like picking on more than overly angry little league coach. We've all seen them. We all have stories. Share them.
-I didn't get to do this last week, since I was, you know, on vacation, but we have last week's Kenton County Mugshot of the Week. (Denise Conley won last week by the way).
As always, e-mail me your selection, since putting a poll question on this thing is as easy as getting Dusty Baker to look at his own players' stats. The weekly winners will square off in the Kenton County Mugshot of the Year Finals in late December.
-Speaking of Dusty, we have this from e-mailer Patrick.
quick note from Dusty's pregame quotes:
"This guy is tough on lefties," Baker said. "[Adam] Dunn has been pretty good [against Maholm] and Griff hasn't. I'm just trying to find a way to get some right-handers in there. Griff will be back in there tomorrow. The guy tomorrow, [Zach Duke], has been tough on Dunn. Jerry [Hairston] and [Jeff] Keppinger are just getting their strokes together, and [so is] Edwin [Encarnacion]"
Since Dusty already screwed up when he said Corey Patterson was a better hitter off lefties a week or so ago I had to check to see if he was wrong again, and he was.
Against Maholm:
Dunn is 3-for-22 with zero extra base hits and 9 strike outs
Griffey is 5-for-18 with 1 home run
Against Duke:
Dunn is 5-for-9
Griffey is 1-for-6
