IF YOU SEE THIS MAN AT THE UC GAME TONIGHT,  RUN

Chuges the Intern wanted to have his face painted on the webcam.  I'm nothing if not a man who helps people realizes their dream, so I agreed.  On the condition that a) he left the facepaint on all day and b) promoted the show on his face.  He will be walking around Nippert tonight looking like this.  And oddly, he will be sober. 

Also, gonna attempt to blog from the Bearcat game.  Longtime readers (both of them) are familiar with my laptop issues so realying on this would be like investing in Enzyte.

I HAVE A SHOW.

-Is there anything that makes you want to stab yourself in the cranium more than listening to Cut-man and Glen from Mason debate anything?

-Ryan Fitzpatrick v. Jim Sorgi! NFL Preseason! Game Four! Tonight on 1530Homer! You could be the most hardcore football fan ever, the type who DVRs the Grey Cup and who actually bought JungleScamKats tickets, and you'd have a hard time mustering up the attention span to deal with three hours of this crap tonight.

-Speaking of the Bengals backup QB, this author doesn't think much of him.

-There's a real football game at Nippert Stadium tonight. My hope for UC talk this year is that we can actually talk about the games and the team rather than what games should be shown on the stupid video board downtown, if it's a UC town or an Ohio State town, or how much it's going to suck when Kelly leaves. I think this team and this conference are pretty interesting. I think the quarterback situation is pretty compelling. Grutza has every intangible, but does he have the physical capability to beat the better teams on the schedule? Will he ever be able to not have to keep looking over his shoulder? Connor Barwin moving to defensive end should be interesting to watch, he's been an absolute beast in camp. This team might legitimately have the best defensive backfield in the country, and that's without the great Haruki Nakamura. Are people overestimating Pittsburgh and UCONN and underestimating Louisville? Can Jake Rogers rebound from a very rough year? Is Kevin Huber UC's best player?

-I think you should stand and remove your hat during the national anthem or the playing of "God Bless America," but you also have the right to. Apparently, not at Yankee Stadium.

-I still don't think they're going to pull it off, but my guys showed some heart last night.

-Can someone tell me what the point of the trading deadline is?

-My intern Chuges is painting his face for the UC game tonight. He'd like to have it done on the webcam. I'm all about making dreams come true.

-If an athlete that a team has millions invested in (Chad Johnson, Shawne Merriman) is deemed to need surgery, does he have an obligation to have it?
