    Reds game rained out
    From the Reds
Tonight's game between the Cincinnati Reds and Florida Marlins at Great American Ball Park has been postponed due to inclement weather.  A makeup date has not been scheduled.  Tickets for tonight's game can be used for that yet-to-be-scheduled makeup game, without exchange.  Tickets for tonight's game also can be exchanged for another game, depending on availability.

Disappointed and excited at the same time
I was so upset that the Reds ALMOST blew a 6 run lead to lose a game last night. At the same time, how cool was it to watch Paul Janish pick up such a clutch hit in his first major league game. Having known Paul from his days in Dayton, it was very cool to see....but I was not pleased that our bullpen (not to mention our 45 million dollar closer) game up 6 runs in the ninth to force extras. Happy they won and all but sheeesh....a 6 run lead in the ninth should NEVER end up with extra innings.

    A truly smashing debut

Nice way to start your big-league career, kid. Paul Janish singled in the winning run for the Reds in a 7-6, 10-inning victory over the Florida Marlins Wednesday night. It was Janish's first big-league hit. "Hopefully, it will only get better," Janish said. "But that's going to be hard."

    Jocketty hasn't talked Jr. trade
    Enquirer.com

Jay Bruce might be the hottest hitter on the planet. His bat is ready for the big leagues. The only thing preventing a call-up is the Reds don't have a spot for him to play. Trading Ken Griffey Jr. would open a spot. But despite all the speculation, a Griffey trade isn't close to happening.

    Stingrays down Cyclones in OT

There's no such thing as a bad shot in overtime. Just ask South Carolina Stingrays wing Trent Campbell. Campbell scored the game-winning goal 2:03 into overtime to lead South Carolina past Cincinnati 5-4 Wednesday night in Game 3 of the ECHL's American Conference finals before a crowd of 3,201 at the North Charleston Coliseum. The Cyclones lead the best-of-seven series 2-1 with Game 4 set for 7 p.m. Friday at the North Charleston Coliseum.

I'll admit I'm a big Red Wings fan....but I wish they had what Dallas has...

Reds would be wise to take any offer for Griffey
    Dayton Daily News

If the Seattle Mariners are truly interested in Ken Griffey Jr., and if he's sincere about wanting to finish his career with the club that gave him his professional start, then the Reds should jump at a trade — even if they're offered nothing more than a box of baseballs and a vat of pine tar.

    Mixed reactions to Mayo allegations
    Dayton Daily News

As Mayo and Walker plowed through the state's Division III schools during their three seasons in Cincinnati, opposing coaches mostly had two reactions: Anger that the transfers were tearing up Ohio or a shrug of the shoulders as nothing-I-can-do acceptance.

Tony Kornheiser accepts buyout from Washington Post
    SI.com

Busy with "Monday Night Football" and his many other jobs, Tony Kornheiser essentially stopped writing columns for The Washington Post long ago. Thus it only seemed inevitable that he tell the world that he's taking the newspaper's buyout -- while on the radio. Kornheiser on Wednesday announced the end of his full-time association with the Post, which began in 1979. "It just feels odd," Kornheiser said on his morning show on Talk Radio 3WT. "It feels odd and it feels bad. It doesn't feel sad, there's no sadness to it, it just feels wrong."

    TGIT...Cheerleader of the Week

    Katie Paul - Miami University

    Name: Katie Paul
    School: Miami University
    Birth Date: August 16, 1986
    Hometown: Canton, Ohio
    Year: Senior
Major: Double major in Anthropology and Ancient Greek (language and literature)

    1. I love Miami, but I almost went to: Miami's the only place for me, grad school is the next choice and I have no idea where I'll end up yet.

    2. My favorite class is: Archaeology laboratory analysis. I know it's a little nerdy but I've wanted to be an archaeologist since I was eight-years-old and I love getting to do what I've always wanted to.

    3. Movies I can't live without: Gladiator, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Shawshank Redemption, and Shakespeare in Love.

    4. Music I can't live without: I really listen to pretty much anything but right now I'd have to say John Mayer, Quietdrive, and Amber Pacific are what's on my play list.

    5. TV shows I can't live without: I hate to admit it but I love cartoons and Family Guy and Futurama are two of my favorite, but I'm a sucker for reality TV shows and I can't get enough of those dating elimination shows like I Love New York.

    6. What's the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you during a game? Probably falling out of a mount, I'm really easily embarrassed especially when there are a lot of people watching me.

    8. My favorite professional sports teams are: Cleveland Cavs, Cleveland Indians, and of course the Browns!

    9. My one Guilty Pleasure is: Chocolate, it's the one thing I truly can't resist.

    10. My best physical feature: Wow, I really don't know but my dentist always says I have nice teeth!

    11. Strange and unusual fact about me: It's not that unusual, but I'm Greek, a lot of times people either ask me what nationality I am or just guess on their own, so I find it better to just say it myself.

    12. My friends would be surprised to know that I: Did an archaeological excavation for a month over the summer. In May I went on a dig on San Salvador, Bahamas, it was a really small island with only about a thousand residents, it was so incredible to be in such a remote place and disconnected from the world for a month.

    13. Favorite Foods: Greek Avoglemono soup and my Yiaya's Baklava.

    14. Five People I'd Like To Have Dinner With (Living or Dead): Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Lebron James, Nefertiti and my sister.

    15. Three People who annoy me: Hypocrites, snobs and fair weather fans!

    16. Next Risk I Want To Take: Grad school, I feel like I'm going to be in school forever but I really want that Ph.D. in archaeology!

    17. If your life had a theme song, what would it be? No Such Thing by John Mayer.

    18. What reality show would you do best on and why? Probably The Amazing Race, I understand a lot of cultures and I can understand a few different languages so I think it would be easier for me go get around.

    19. If I won the lottery, the first thing I'd buy is: A trip to Greece for my grandparents, parents, and sister, that's one place I don't want to experience without them.

    20. Describe the worst date you ever went on: I can't really say I've ever been on a bad date, for me the good ones have always stuck out in my mind.
