Gramatica out for the season
Gramatica (groin) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday and will miss the rest of the season, the Times-Picayune reports. Gramatica has struggled all season, making just 6-of-10 field goals on
the year. His poor performance likely has as much to do with him being
placed on injured reserve as his groin injury, which he has been able
to play through the last several games. The Saints replaced Gramatica
on the active roster with Taylor Mehlhaff, a rookie whom the Saints
drafted in the sixth round this year but who was released prior to the
start of the regular season.

Westbrook is day-to-day
Westbrook (fractured ribs) did not practice on Wednesday and is
day-to-day according to head coach Andy Reid, the Eagles' official site
reports. Get ready to hear "pain tolerance" and "game-time decision" plenty in
reference to Westbrook in the coming weeks. We'll continue to track his
status closely, but prepare as though you'll need check his
availability just prior to Sunday's kickoff against the 49ers.

Looks like Dante Stallworth might actually be ready to go
Stallworth has made much progress over the bye week and should be ready
to go for Monday's game against the Giants, the Browns' Official
Website reports. He was not mentioned by Crennel in Tuesday's injury update, which is a
good sign that he has not suffered any setbacks. Another good sign of
his return is that the club waived receiver Steve Sanders to make room
for defensive back Hamza Abdullah, meaning the Browns' need for depth
at receiver is shrinking with the imminent return of Stallworth. He is
not a great start by any means this week against the Giants, but it
will be a good gage to see how much he'll be used.

LenDale White probable
White said Tuesday that a shoulder injury that has cost him time in
practice was a primary reason he got only three carries in Sunday's
13-10 victory over the Ravens, the Nashville City Paper reports. "I was injured. I'm pretty sure my shoulder was down on the injury
report. I didn't practice for a couple of days at the first of the
week," White said Tuesday. White said he is not unhappy over his lack
of carries Sunday and pointed to the team's 5-0 record as further
reason to be satisfied despite a lesser role.

Marvin Harrison being sued...could be suspended
Harrison is being sued by the alleged victim of an April shooting near
an auto-repair shop that Harrison owns in Philadelphia, the
Philadelphia Daily News reports. Harrison admits he got into a fight
with the victim, but wasn't involved in the shooting. The incident is
still under investigation by Philadelphia police, but Harrison has not
been charged or named a suspect. "Look, it's our position that Marvin
Harrison was the shooter," said Robert M. Gamburg, attorney for alleged
victim Dwight Dixon. "But even if you believe the other theory,
Marvin's gun was still used in the shooting, so he was negligent for
leaving the weapon where someone else could obtain it." Harrison could face a suspension from the league if it's found he was
involved in the incident, although it may not be until after the season
that this case is sorted out. The Daily News report says ballistics
tests proved shell casings found at the shooting scene had been fired
from Harrison's gun and the gun was found in the garage he owns. As a
result, he could face legal action and discipline from the league even
if he wasn't directly involved in the shooting. However, adding to the
complexity of the situation is that Dixon is due in court to face
charges of making a false report to police when he initially said
Harrison wasn't the shooter, and later changed his story.

No word from Shockey yet
Head coach Sean Payton is not sure whether Shockey (sports hernia) will
be able to practice this week, the Times-Picayune reports. Payton alluded to a target return date of October 19 for Shockey, but
also indicated that Shockey might be able to return to the practice
field this week, which leaves open the door for him being able to play
in this Sunday's game against the Raiders. Shockey said Tuesday that he
has been feeling better, but added that "it's not my decision when I
come back."

Week 6 Fantasy Stockwatch
Jake Delhomme, QB, Carolina - UP
Delhomme is starting to get rolling with 530 passing yards, four touchdowns and one interception in his past two games, and he's clicking with Steve Smith and Muhsin Muhammad. If you drafted Delhomme as your No. 2 Fantasy quarterback, and your starter has already gone through his bye week ( Peyton Manning, Brett Favre and Eli Manning, for example), this is the time to trade Delhomme. Unless you plan on starting him, there should be an owner in your league looking for help at quarterback, and Delhomme could bring you a valuable player at running back or wide receiver in return.
Jon Kitna, QB, Detroit - DOWN
The Kitna Era appears over for the Lions, which is something we anticipated prior to the season when we suggested not even drafting him. He left Sunday's game against Chicago with back problems, but it's more likely a subtle way to bench him. Look for Drew Stanton to start getting a look as the Lions plan for the future. Kitna has three touchdowns and four interceptions in his past three games and has struggled to get the ball to Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson, which you would think is easy to do. He also has too many turnovers, which is why it's safe to release him in all Fantasy leagues.
LeRon McClain, RB, Baltimore - UP
Through four games, McClain has been the best running back for the Ravens and one of the best running backs in the NFL. But unless you have McClain as a handcuff option to Willis McGahee, it might be a good idea to trade McClain now. It appears like McGahee is getting healthy after 22 carries for 64 yards in Week 5 against Tennessee. McClain only had 11 carries for 54 yards, but he scored his fourth touchdown against the Titans. The touchdowns could continue for McClain, but if McGahee starts getting all the carries, McClain could become useless, which is why you should try to unload him now while his value is high.
LaDainian Tomlinson, RB, San Diego - DOWN
I don't think Tomlinson is washed up. He just had a bad game against Miami when all of his teammates struggled. But maybe my colleague Dave Richard was right that you should have traded him after he scored four touchdowns in two weeks against the Jets and Oakland. If his toe problem continues to linger, he could be hampered all season. He has some tough matchups the next two weeks against New England and Buffalo, but then his schedule looks great with games against New Orleans, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Atlanta, Oakland and Kansas City again. He should produce then, but right now you might have to ride out some bad games.
Randy Moss, WR, New England - UP
If you have Moss, trade him now. Shop him around to every owner in your league looking for a wide receiver and try to secure a package of two good players for him. Prey on the owner who thinks Moss will do what he did in Week 5 every week because there's a safe chance he won't. In his two previous games with Matt Cassel, Moss had six catches for 47 yards. Then he has five catches for 111 yards and the touchdown against the 49ers, which was a great matchup for him. Moss might have another game or two like this again, but you can probably get two players who will be more consistent in a trade. I just don't expect Moss to get enough opportunities on a weekly basis with Cassel as his quarterback.
Jonathan Stewart, RB, Carolina - DOWN
If you want Stewart, try to trade for him now. There has to be a Stewart owner who just watched DeAngelo Williams run for 123 yards and score three touchdowns against Kansas City and is thinking this is the end for Stewart. Well, it's not. He's still going to be the goal-line back, and he will still score plenty of touchdowns for the Panthers. Stewart lost a fumble in the red zone against the Chiefs, which hurt his chance of scoring a touchdown in four-straight games. It's doubtful Williams will play like that again, but Stewart still has plenty of upside and could be had for the right price if an owner is ready to trade him.
Lee Evans, WR, Buffalo - UP
It's amazing how Evans has improved from last year to become a must-start Fantasy option in all leagues. He hasn't had less than 65 yards receiving in a game and has back-to-back touchdowns against St. Louis and Arizona. Even if Trent Edwards (head) misses any time following the bye in Week 6, Evans will be fine with J.P. Losman. Evans best year was 2006 when Losman was the starter. In leagues where you start only two wide receivers and no flex option, Evans might be available in a trade. The only reason for concern with Evans is he's no longer in a contract year after signing a four-year extension. But he's showing no signs of a lack of motivation since he signed the deal.
Chris Perry, RB, Cincinnati - DOWN
Perry might return to his more suited role of third-down back for the Bengals with Cedric Benson getting more carries and possibly starting. Perry has been terrible as the starter, averaging 47 rushing yards per game with five fumbles in five games, which is why Benson was signed. You're not going to release Perry, but don't plan on starting him in your Fantasy league any time soon, even with a favorable matchup. He's been a disappointment along with the rest of the Bengals, and you can't trust him to produce right now, especially now that Benson is on the team.
Isaac Bruce, WR, San Francisco - UP
Bruce obviously missed playing for Mike Martz the past two years because the reunion with the former Rams coach has reignited Bruce's career. Bruce has 14 catches for 275 yards and four touchdowns in his and Martz's first season in San Francisco. Bruce had four touchdowns total in 2007 and only three in 2006 in St. Louis. He has become a solid No. 2 Fantasy wide receiver and has developed a great rapport with J.T. O'Sullivan. Look for Bruce, at 35, to continue playing at a high level, and you can consider him a solid starter the rest of the season for your Fantasy team.
Terrell Owens, WR, Dallas - DOWN
The production in Week 5 against Cincinnati was obviously solid with 67 receiving yards and a touchdown. But the targets could be a cause for concern since he was only thrown at three times with two catches. In Week 4, Owens had 17 targets and complained about not being involved in the offense. Hopefully this was just good coverage by the Bengals and not Tony Romo or Jason Garrett going away from Owens to prove a point. He's not going to lose any value, and you're still going to start him every week. But he needs to be a focal point of the offense to lead your Fantasy team, which means he needs to stop mouthing off -- a tough thing for Owens to do.

TJ to be traded??
The Dayton Daily News reports that a league source said the 49ers have expressed some interest in acquiring Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh
before the Week 7 trade deadline. According to the report, 49ers
offensive coordinator Mike Martz would like to upgrade at the wide
receiver position. Roy Williams is also allegedly on the 49ers' radar. Both players are scheduled to be free agents after the season. In San Francisco, Houshmandzadeh would be expected to eventually post
the kind of stats he's delivered in Cincinnati (high receptions,
moderate yardage, high touchdowns), but it would take time as Mike
Martz's offensive system is complicated and Houshmandzadeh has no
experience playing in it. Before any deal for Houshmandzadeh would
happen, the team getting him would likely want a long-term contract in
place first. Unlike Major League Baseball and the NBA, trade-deadline
deals don't happen much in the NFL, so a deal involving a player of
this magnitude would be a surprise. We'll keep our ears pressed to the
ground, but for now figure that Houshmandzadeh is a good starting
option at the Jets in Week 6.

Chris Chambers likely out week 6
The San Diego Union-Tribune reports Chargers WR Chris Chambers appears likely to sit against the Patriots with the ankle sprain suffered against the Dolphins in Week 5. Keep an eye on Chambers status, but he left the game against the
Dolphins and could be out against the Patriots. When healthy, Chambers
is a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR.

Good news for Matt Jones owners
Jaguars receiver Matt Jones'
cocaine charge will be heard in drug court rather than in the regular
criminal system and will allow him to keep any conviction off his
record. Jones, 25, was to have gone on trial Friday for his July 10
arrest when a Fayetteville police officer saw him inside a car
allegedly cutting up cocaine with a credit card. Prosecutors say the
felony charge will be dismissed if Jones completes the drug program.
Gunn told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that Jones will likely
not be required to move back to Arkansas to participate in the drug
court program if the NFL allows him to continue playing. She said Jones
must adhere to the NFL's anti-substance abuse program and pass all its
drug testing requirements.

Phillip Rivers playing with bruised ribs
According to The Sports Xchange, Chargers QB Philip Rivers
did suffer bruised ribs Week 5 at Miami, which might account for his
passes that were uncharacteristically off-kilter; he was 13-for-28 for
159 yards and a score. After throwing three touchdowns in each of his first three games this
season, Rivers has come back down to earth over his last two contests
with a combined two touchdowns and two interceptions. The Chargers host
New England in Week 6, and despite his recent struggles, Rivers is
still a low-end No. 1 Fantasy QB as long as his injury doesn't limit
him in practice.
