Amidst all the talk of bringing in Shaun Alexander, cutting Rudi, Kenny Irons being gone, people always overlook (to my amazement) and completely forget about:
Kenny Watson (the quiet workhorse)
I mean seriously, I'm thinking Watson must have "gotten with" Mrs. Lewis or something because he seems to be in the dog house for no apparent reason. Let me give you some statistical examples:
2007
Rudi Johnson - 170 carries, 497 yards, 2.9 yards per carry
Kenny Watson - 178 carries, 763 yards, 4.3 yards per carry
Despite the clear evidence above, the Gza (Genius) Marvin Lewis, continued to run Rudi out there whenever he was available ignoring Kenny Watson...last season I would look at the TV in amazement as Rudi (when healthy) would rack up 22 carries and Kenny would get 3 carries...intriguing to say the least.
Now in fairness, somebody on some blog/forum (I forgot who so I apologize for not being able to give credit) with "inside" info said that whenever Kenny was featured (when Rudi was not active) he had to be taped together to keep from falling apart at the end of a game. I understand...Kenny is now 30 and practically over the hill for a RB, but as long as he is producing, why not use him?
It would seem with Chris Perry not being able to stay healthy for a full season since 2005 and his last game action coming in November 2006, the Bengals would limit his carries and bring him along slowly, especially against a tough Ravens run D, right? But Lewis/Brat in their infinite wisdom ran him into the middle close to 20 times...
2008
Chris Perry - 18 carries, 37 yards, 2.9 yards per carry
Kenny Watson - 2 carries, 13 yards, 6.5 yards per carry
Now, I agree with Scary Perry being the starting TB, but you have a perfectly capable running back like Watson waiting to run, why not limit Perry, reduce his exposure to injury and bring him along slowly like you said you would and at the same time limit Watson so he can stay health longer and clearly still be effecitve? It's a freaking WIN WIN!! Of the 20 carries why not let Kenny get 7 of those? The stats don't lie, gentlemen. Which is why I say Kenny had to have wronged Marvin somehow...i.e. maybe talking about his Moms or something.
Alexander somehow getting signals from this organization that he will be a Bengal in the future makes no sense, but then again for this crucible of suckocrity we all refer to as the Bungles organization, it makes perfect sense...

Which brings me to this:
BENGAL FANS DIVEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First let me say, unequivocally, the state of the franchise is no fans' fault.
That being said, we operate in a free market economy. I love the free market because it is free. We can choose to use and buy products/services we feel are the best or superior and if the product/service is inferior we don't have to buy it and hopefully the companies making/serving crap will go out of business. This is what makes America the best nation on earth!
Well the same thing applies to sports! and in this case the Bengals (or maybe not). I understand after the arrival of Marvin and his first 2 years, then the anomoly of winning that happened in 2005 everybody was ready to get on board and rock. But since then the franchise has gone backwards and is once again an inferior product, so stop supporting it.
I understand the season for PBS is sold out, nothing we can do about that (except show Matt Millen-like displeasure with Mike Brown at the games or sell your tix to the opposition). But to you 20,000 on the season tix waiting list, "What's up with that?" (as Mo and CTrent said on the radio). For those currently with season tix don't buy back in, for those without tix, stop buying the gear!
Now again, the choice is yours and I am not mad one way or the other because again, we operate in a free market economy. Do what you will, but I swear if this were any other business industry...Mike Brown would be out of business.

I'll be back at the end of the week with my "keys to the game" including bringing in Fitz in the 2nd half if Carson is getting murdalized.

Nice painting...I am a closet "fantasy geek" and I picked Watson at the end of my draft because he's good & Perry's never healthy. Being brought up a "Bengal Fan" & having season tickets with my Pops for 17 years when I lived there has eternally doomed me to being a lifelong Bengal fan. That being said, I use the Buckeyes to get me through football season!!!
