...caused by the wreck that is your Cincinnati Bengals.  I have tried hard to be optimistic this past week, after all, they did show up valiantly at the Meadowlands.  I have defended Marvin, placing blame on the Brown regime. I even maintained with a win yesterday, the Bengals had a slim ray of hope to get back into contention in the AFC. I also said with a loss, the Bengals will be right back on track for "(im)Perfection."  That's right 0-16 is the absolute only thing left for the Bengals to achieve this season, because who can resist staring at a train wreck?

I was going to take a look at the remaining schedule, but this is something that you have to attack one week at a time.  There is no looking ahead to the next opponent overlooking this week.  There will be no overestimating opponents, no thinking there is no way to win this game.  The Bengals have to be focused now more than ever, and it starts week in and week out with not overestimating your opponent.  They have to go into each week with a complete lack of preparation with the mentality that, "we may be able to beat this team" then do everything in their power to NOT let that happen!

   Ocho Cinco is close to a meltdown of epic proportions...does anyone NOT want to see that?

As far as the Cleveland game is concerned I only have a couple thoughts:

1) Our D line may be the worst in the history of the NFL...they don't get sacks, they don't make tackles, they are just kind of there.  What happened to our "Big" free agent acquistion who wanted to prove to the world that he was not the beneficiary of a helluva defensive team especially at the opposit end.  Odom is terrible.  Peko is terrible.  Mr. Nice Guy, and team guy and locker room guy JT 97 sucks. And it may be time to start calling Robert Jumpy again.

2) Why does Marvin Lewis and Bratkowski continue to exclusively run Perry and not utilize Kenny Watson? Perry is no longer "Scary", he isn't "Mean", he is just slightly below average and should be a third down back.  He should really be at least splitting runs with Kenny, and how bout you mix some DeDe in there?  I just don't understand the decisions of this team...they are like a woman to me now, where I don't even try to understand anymore. It just is what it is. (Wow, that is the first time I am using the cliche of the day on my blog! Good job by me).

I know only a small percentage of you follow the NBA with any regularity, which leads me to this perplexing question:

   Why the heck are the New York Knickerbockers advertising heavily on cincinnati.com?

Maybe it's because the Knicks owner Jimmy James Dolan is compteting with Mike Brown for the most inept owner is all of sports. I mean the following moves by the Knicks rival some of Brown's best:

   They drafted the Italian, Gallinari this year with the 6th, count em, 6th overall pick.  That outdoes the Bengals reach for Jerome Simpson by a whole round.

   Then the Knicks brought back Allen Houston, Allen Houston...the guy didn't even play last year, and his last season with the Knicks he was surrounded by controversy because his knees were shot, he wasn't performing, but was still raking in an insane amount of money. I can't even find the dude on the NBA website as an active player but he is on the Knicks website, on the roster.  This rivals the move to bring Slim back to Cincy except again Dolan outdoes Brown again because at least Slim is young and has some potential.  Allen is old (in NBA terms) and has nothing left, including knees.  We'll just have to see who misses more of their respective seasons.
