Recently I have heard people say why have the young guys hustled less? My answer is simply this: the manager sets a certain atmosphere in the clubhouse. It can be we always hustle no matter what or we can be really laid back. The reds chose the ladder of the 2. Jay Bruce doesn't run out ground balls as hard as he use to because it seems to me there is no punishment for not playing the game hard. When you have a manager who is to friendly to say the least to the players, they are going to get comfortable and not play as hard. Plus, they had the pinch hitter bunt on the 1st pitch. I would have let arroyo finish the game out. He held the mets to 1-2-3 innings every inning except the 4th.
