Bender's just awesome. "Hey, what kind of party is this? There's no booze and only one hooker."

Other than the stuff everyone heard on the radio, the only Gordon Lightfoot song I know is "Ten Degrees and Getting Colder"--because Nanci Griffith covered it on her "Other Voices, Other Rooms" album. That's a great song (and a wonderful album). So I like what I've heard, but I guess I'm not familiar enough with him to have a very educated opinion.

Banjo on Ruins of the Realm?? That's my fave on this album. And that's something else I like about him--he throws in an unexpected instrument every so often. He'll use brass, whatever.

I like your pick, too--the line about not wanting another drink, just the last one again--good stuff. Also really like the barroom piano in Freeway View.

Thanks for the recommendations! Next time I'm on an itunes spree I'll check them out.

Sad thing is that's not the worst picture of Pete I found. Just saving it, pacing myself a bit.
