About Me: Native Cincinnatian, graduate of Anderson High School in 1979, the University of Cincinnati in 1983 and the University of South Florida in 1987 (prefer to be known as a Bearcat though). Lived in Tampa between 1985 and 1990 working for WFLA-AM, WFTS-TV and WRBQ/AM-FM. Moved back to Cincinnati and have worked for 700WLW since August of 1990. Started doing weekend sports and back-up helicopter traffic before becoming producer of "Sportstalk with Cris Collinsworth" in 1991. Have been the morning sports anchor since 1992 and have been part of every UC football broadcast since 1994. I live in Anderson Township with my spousal unit and our four male offspring(ers).
Music: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band; Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes; the Mavericks (disbanded);BR549;Derailers;Brian Setzer Orchestra/Stray Cats; Raisins/Psychodots/Bears (prefer Raisins);Cheap Trick;Junior Brown
Movies: Forrest Gump; Catch Me If You Can;Family Man;Moonstruck;Raising Arizona;Animal House;Airplane;National Treasure (both); That Thing You Do;JFK;Tombstone; Necessary Roughness (for Kathy Ireland alone)
TV: Black and white Andy Griffith Shows; 24; Gene Simmons Family Jewels; Driving Force;Gomer Pyle USMC; Occasional Biography and History Channels; HBO's "Band of Brothers" and "From Earth to the Moon"; used to watch St. Elsewhere and Knots Landing;thanks to dating my wife in the late 70s/early 80s--sometimes catch General Hospital
Books: Mainly biographical "Race to the Moon" on NASA; Joe Nuxhall's book by Greg Hoard; numerous biographies on Bruce Springsteen and Pete Rose, others on Gene Simmons, Bob Huggins, Oscar Robertson; Pete Maravich. Also, company-issued literature and Rod Serling's "To Serve Man".
Likes: High school and college athletics (UC);any sports my kids are in; Springsteen; NASA; writing things that others find humorous
Dislikes: Filling out long surveys on likes/dislikes; annoying/rude cellphone talkers; people that talk and don't LISTEN;my medical ailment (oromandibular focal dystonia)that has thrown my life a major curveball.
Hobbies: Toting my kids to their activities;play guitar and bass (very infrequently due to toting my kids to their activities); like to write since that comes easier than talking; enjoy seeing and doing things I haven't done before
Vices: Seeing as I'm still human and full of questions/errors, I'm still learning "when to say when". Though I checked "drink" below, it's rare because in today's judgmental society I'm almost afraid to enjoy an occasional frothy brew that could get me labeled as something I'm not.
Virtues: When healthy, I'm good at what I do. I've always been able to write things that were mildly entertaining. Very loyal to my family.
Heroes: My Dad served in the Marine Corps in the Korean War--no need to look much further. There are others whose abilities I admire that probably aren't fit for the "hero" title.

    CALL MO UPDATE

Thursday, August 7, 2008, 11:21 AM EST [General]

Mo Egger, CC multi-media celebrity has now agreed to pay me in full for his Springsteen tickets at an agreed upon date.  Naturally, I had to call in some favors from the NY/NJ area--such as posting this picture of Mo parading around Shea Stadium with "the big head"....

    Where's your webcam now?

To thank Mo for his generosity and sing the praises of Jerry Manual and Carlos Delgado, call 749-1530.  I don't know the toll-free # off the top of my head--just call collect--Mo will pick it up. Say hi to Mark and Chuges.

    CALL MO

Wednesday, August 6, 2008, 09:45 AM EST [General]

As documented, I saw Springsteen in Jersey with Clear Channel's favorite chatsmith, Mo Egger.   That was 7/28, the tickets were purchased last fall ('07).  Today is 8/6/08 and Mo apparently has been hangin' with the CC sales folk as I haven't been paid.  Please call him at 749-1530 and remind him of his financial obligations and tell him I've got some other boys from Jersey on the way to see him....

As always, convenient payment plans are available.  That's 749-1530 and be easy on him, the Mets have dropped out of first.

So who else owes you money? Who is next? Does the Cutman owe you for contact lense solution? Does Seggy owe you for that home gym you bought him? Did Tracy Jones forget to throw in on the weed? Maybe not...thanx for helping pimp out my blog.

"Each time I try to get out, they pull me back in..." -M. Corleone in Godfather III- which explains why you don't know who said that one...what a terrible movie.

And hey, Uncle Jr. is not the only one who doesn't like to get paid.
