Why can't ESPN tell the entire story?

Friday, November 21, 2008, 09:19 AM EST [General]

I was watching Sportscenter this morning and they told the story about Chad being deactivated for last nights game.  They said that Deion Sanders (from the NFL Network) spoke with Chad once he arrived back in Cincinnati after being sent home.  They reported that Deion was told, by Chad, that he was late to a mtg, and was shutting his eyes during said mtg.  Chad told Deion that he was told to sit up straight and pay attention, at which point he walked out of the mtg but not before getting into a verbal altercation with Coach Lewis (among others).  Thats where ESPN left the story...what they failed to mention is that Deion was also told by Chad, that Chad appologized for yelling at coach Lewis and understood the punishment that he faced.  Thats why I hate ESPN, only tell a story 1/2 of the way.  While I don't agree with how Chad handled the situation with the mtg and altercation, I admire him for being man enough to apologize and take responsiblity.  Did his deactivation cause the Bengals to lose the game last night?...NO.  Ryan Fitzpatricks rag doll arm and lack of imaginative offensive playcalling did that. Just my opinion.

Chris Perry, Kenny Watson, and De De Dorsey better watch out for the Browns.  Looks like the Browns D has been taking lessons from Rodney Harrison on how to take cheap shots.  I guess its all in the family, seeing as how Romeo coached Harrison up in New England.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the Bryant family.

Thursday, September 25, 2008, 11:28 AM EST [General]

I just want to pass on my thoughts and prayers to the Bryant family.  As my wife and I still continue to try and become pregnant after 16 months, this breaks our hearts to hear of a tragedy like this.

My advice to all parents (and people, for that matter) out there, make sure you go home and hug your children and your entire family and tell them how much you love them every chance you get.

Al Davis may be the most senial person on the face of the planet, or is that eccentric?  Atleast he is not here...we have our own owner problems.

    Josh Howard...WHAT?

Thursday, September 18, 2008, 09:11 AM EST [General]

Do "blacks" not celebrate the "Star Spangled Banner"?  What the hell is wrong with Josh Howard?  Please tell me he was trying to be funny.

Honestly Sean and i am being dead serious when i say this. I didn't think i 2008 we still had prove, say or tell white people "he is not speaking for all black people and just himself". maybe it's just me but i realize as a black man that there are 38 million black people in this country and we all dont look alike, act alike or think alike. And i assume the same of white people. That's the reason i brought up Willie and Limbaugh. The white people i know consider both to be an embarrasment.

Thanks, Sean. I try to be balanced in such issues, but I tell you I've grown..haha. I'm not going to the game this weekend but I will root the Bengals on to a hopeful victory...(although the only solace we Bengal fans have is that the G-Men are better on the road it seems than at home, maybe they lay an egg). While I still root, the first 2 games I have been pretty apathetic and unexcited. We'll see Sunday!

it had to do with a story in a larger scope. people don't just work for cincinnati papers here. there's this whole world-wide internets thing now and newspapers from all over the place. and palmer knows more about this guy than most. really, what kind of harm was there? ridiculous to make that any kind of issue.
