I was excited to watch Volquez's Reds debut.

Cueto's was even more exciting.

But none has me more excited than the major league debut of a pitcher from the Red....Sox?

Justin Masterson is making his major league debut today. I was good friends with his sister in jr high/high school, and Justin and my brother played against each other in Little League. He is a great guy - humble and likeable, with a fastball that has been clocked as high as 99 mph.

Thus far, he has gone 2 innings, no hits, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts against the Angels (not exactly a chump lineup).

I hope you have a great outing, Justin! Our thoughts and prayers (and eyes, lol) are with you today here in Dayton!
