Rosie Red made her debut recently. Is this mascot really necessary?

Let the Fire Sale Begin!- This team stinks

Friday, June 20, 2008, 11:10 AM EST [General]

The stench coming from Cincinnati's riverfront these days is not a 3 day old dead carp, it's the baseball team. The Reds have lost five in a row and sit at the bottom of the division standings at 12 ½ games back. This team stinks. Why would you want to keep this group together when it has proven it is not going to win? While some shy away from the words "fire sale" (including GM Walt Jocketty) it is obvious that this team needs to purge the roster and rebuild.

I say let the wheeling and dealing begin. Even though I have a certain degree of affection for some of the players rumored to be on the block, my lust for a winner out weighs these thoughts. If we truly love these players let's set them free. When Arroyo, Freel, Griffey or Dunn return to GAPB wearing an opponents jersey we can give them a standing ovation for their service with the Reds. We did that just last weekend when Casey came back to town. Keep in mind who the proven winner is on this team- Walt Jocketty. Let's all hope Walt can trade some of these guys for players who can build a winning future.

    Sparky

Tuesday, June 17, 2008, 08:06 AM EST [General]

Watching the Red Sox and Reds last weekend brought back a lot memories from one of the greatest World Series ever played. It was great to see Johnny Bench made it to the game. We see Joe Morgan, Tony Perez and even Pete Rose at the ballpark from time to time. The person I would have loved to see at the park was Sparky Anderson. It is no secret that Sparky has not been in good health lately. I didn't want this rare Red Sox vs. Reds series to pass without recognizing the man who managed the greatest Reds teams of all time. Sparky, I hope you get to feeling better and hope you are able to make a trip to GABP soon!

    Pee Trough or Urinals?

Monday, June 16, 2008, 07:06 AM EST [General]

This subject has been debated among my friends. If you were buidling a new stadium or arena would you put urinals or pee troughs in the men's rest room? Some believe that pee troughs can accomodate the most persons during times of high demand. Others believe the pee trough is a violation of personal space. Where do stand on this debate?

Check out this pee trough slip and slide...

    Who dresses Johnny Bench?

Thursday, June 12, 2008, 02:25 PM EST [General]

Johhny Bench is a hall of fame catcher but he will never make the cover of GQ. Johnny showed up at the ballpark last night wearing a pin-striped Reds hat left over fom the late 1980's. Below is a sample of Johnny's wardrobe.

Love your profile picture. I had a whole set of cards with those little cartoony logos on them when I was little.
