    Hilarious HOFamer

Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 11:30 PM EST [General]

Coming home from another Tampa Bay Rays victory over the LA, Bakersfield, El Cajon, Anaheim Angels 4-2 I was able to catch the last few innings of 700 WLW and the "Legend" Marty Brennaman. Classic Hall of Famer " This offense is going to struggle the rest of the season". Ya think Mr. B. ??? Dude picks apart Adam Dunn like a Thanksgiving turkey for the last 7 seasons. The Reds finally trade Dunn and now the Hall of Famer has new meat to chew on. Jay Bruce " Boy he has a long swing". What happened to once we get rid of Dunn and Junior the clubhouse will be energized with hustle and fundamentals and situational hitting??? Now the  Reds have no one in this line-up that makes Lou Piniella sweat. No thumper in the middle of it all that gets the opposing bullpen active... Marty is quick to point out Adam Dunn is a " One dimensional player." But that one dimension is something a lot of teams covet in a big way. While the Reds are in clean out the house mode here's hoping some broadcasting contracts are not renewed also......

It's high. It's far. It's out of here!!! Adam Dunn hits # 33 for the D-Backs... " This offense is going to struggle the rest of the season"... Hilarious Marty.... Just Hilarious....

    Big Sedona Red Machine

Saturday, August 16, 2008, 10:44 PM EST [General]

A lot of baseball people have wondered about an Arizona Diamondbacks Playoff run if somehow they could make the Playoffs. In 2001 Arizona faced the same challenge. They knew if they could make the Playoffs they could throw Curt Schilling and Randy Johnson back to back right to a World Series Championship over the Yankees. Seven years later the D-Backs have the National League's best pitcher in Brandon Webb, followed by super talented Danny Haren. And oh by the way Randy " Big Unit" Johnson has got his groove back in recent outings. Webb/Haren/Johnson in the Playoffs.... Scary. But the D-backs have struggled mightily hitting the ball. Oh until August 11th. That was the day the Reds dealt a big Texan outfielder to Arizona: Adam Dunn... In 5 games with Dunn, the D-Backs they have scored 38 runs and have posted a 4-1 record. Tonight Dunn came to bat 5 times and reached base all 5 times. 2 hits, 3 walks, an RBI, a STOLEN BASE, and a D-Backs win 11-5. The Arizona Diamondbacks look poised to get on a real big run similiar to what they did early in the season. And if they do make the Playoffs, Lou Piniella may get a good case of indigestion. Brandon Webb, Danny Haren, Randy Johnson and  Adam Dunn hitting in Wrigley Field. Look out Waveland Avenue.. Look out National League. The D-Backs like the Florida Marlins in 2003 could win their Second World Championship......

    As the Reds World Turns

Friday, August 15, 2008, 10:13 PM EST [General]

All the hype of a possible Jay Bruce/Drew Stubbs reunion in the Reds outfield in 2009, let's me know that the more things change with the Reds the more things stay the same... Has it been 8 years since the Reds had two hot shot outfielders reunited in the Reds outfield??? Adam Dunn and Austin Kearns?? How did that work out??

I'm looking at a 2006 Cincinnati Reds souvenir picture from the US Postal Service posted April 3, 2006. Back Row: Paul Wilson (out of baseball) Austin Kearns ( Washington) Adam Dunn (Arizona) Ken Griffey Junior ( Chicago). Middle Row : Felipe Lopez ( St. Louis) Rich Aurillia (SF) Jason LaRue (St. Louis). Front Row:  Eric Milton (Out of Baseball) Ryan Freel (disabled) Aaron Harang (Winner of Survivor Island, still with the Reds). Less than 3 years and their all but gone... That's baseball folks.. Baseball in the Reds world. Now the 2009 souvenir: Chris Dickerson, Jay Bruce, Brandon Phillips, Jeff Keppinger, Edinson Volquez, Johnny Cueto, Joey Votto, Jerry Hairston, Javy Valentin, and Bronson Arroyo..

In 3 years how many of these Reds will be in a Reds uniform??? Oh well 9-2 Arizona !

    Go D-backs......

Dunn has high praise for Dusty

Tuesday, August 12, 2008, 11:59 PM EST [General]

According to the Colorado Rockies announcers tonight, Adam Dunn could not say enough good things about Dusty Baker. Dunn is having a pretty good night tonight in his first game as a Diamondback. Wearing the # 32, Hitting Clean-up and Playing in RF Dunn chased a bad ball on a 3-2 pitch in the dirt and struckout in the 1st. Dunn laid off the 3-2 pitch in the dirt and walked in the 3rd. Dunn broke his bat in the 5th but managed to bloop a double down the line. In the 6th Dunn walked again to lead-off the inning. You can see Dunn is playing with a little more intensity tonight. He was barely forced out at 3rd on a grounder behind the bag which the Rockies 3rd baseman beat a sliding Dunn to the bag. Dunn sliding???!! I didn't know Dunn had a game face, but he certainly has it tonight. Maybe playing for a first place team in August will do this for a player looking for a new contract. Struck out in the 8th on a 3-2 pitch from Jason Grilli with 2 men on base. Not saying this is Paul O'Neill going to the Yankees but a change of scenery could help Dunn become a better player. Wow Dunn still playing RF in the 8th with a 4-2 lead... Reds managers would have taken Dunn out for defense by now... Dunn catches the final out in the 8th. Two hands on the catch... Dunn taken out in the 9th for defensive purposes D-Backs leading 4-2.... Arizona wins 4-2 and remains in first place in the NL West.

I'd rather collect from those with extravagant wealth than from those without it. As for spending it wisely? Obama could wipe his **** with millions of dollars a day, and it would still be a better use of the money than WMD hunting in Iraq.

That's not my point. Again, my point is that I won't weep for multi-millionaire ballplayers or billionaire owners who will pay more in FICA taxes. My point on Iraq, assuming you support McCain, is that I would rather have a President who cares about the blood and treasure we are spending there than one who says "it's not too important" and cares more about the welfare of millionaires. As far as your litany of complaints regarding government spending, I suggest you vote Libertarian unless you are a modern conservative. Because their views on a woman's right to chose, sex, individual rights and the First Amendment conflict with today's conservatives. When Reagan said he wanted government off the backs of the people, he meant taxes and guns.
