Thank God. The station's internet is back up and running!! Thus, The Wake Up Call is back up and running again. (www.wrfnradio.com)
Reds lose to the Cubs last night, 9-5. Aaron Harang has an unusually bad day on the mound. Offense couldn't hit when they needed to. The only good news is that Ken Griffey, Jr is now one step closer to 600, belting home run 595 last night off of Ryan Dempster. Other than that, same old same old for the Reds. It is a shame that Dusty was booed at every opportunity by the Cubs fans at Wrigley Field. He did more to make the Cubs a winner than anybody over the last century, yet all anybody talks about is how they collapsed in game 6 of the NLCS. It's a shame, it's really a shame.
NBA season ends tonight. That's about how much I pay attention to the NBA.
The Cyclones won last night, and now lead Johnstown in the ECHL Playoffs 3-0. I'm getting pretty excited about this team. It's been a long time since a Cincinnati team made a playoff run, and I think this is just the playoff excitement this town needs.
Speaking of the Cubs, the Bengals situation actually looks to me a lot like the Cubs' situation. Made a playoff run a few years ago and likely would've gone on to their championship game if not for a freak accident (need I say more than Bartman and Kimo Von Knee-Snapper). Success fades and the team begins to struggle. The Bengals are a little behind the Cubs in that they haven't fired their head coach, but I say give it time. This year could be the final nail in the coffin of Marvin Lewis if this team doesn't do well.
