    A tie?

Monday, November 17, 2008, 07:53 AM EST [Bengals]

I never really understood what "kiss your sister" meant.  I always thought that was a stupid way to describe a tie.  A tie.  Give me a freaking break.  A professional sports game should never end in a tie.  What a waste of time!

It was neat to see Who Dey Revolution get some publicity on the television broadcast yesterday, with one of the billboards being shown during a break in the game.

Except for getting no pressure on Donovan McNabb, the defense played well yesterday.  They are definitely getting better.  Dare I say that the Bengals have found the right man for the job as defensive coordinator?

Ryan Fitzpatrick got absolutely be-otch slapped yesterday on more than one occasion.  To his credit, he kept fighting and gave his team a chance to win the game.  Face it, he is the backup quarterback.  I cannot fault him for his play yesterday.

It is certainly good news that Antonio Chatman's initial x-rays were normal and that he had movement in his arms and legs.

    Worst NFL Coaches

Friday, November 14, 2008, 07:41 AM EST [Bengals]

FOX Sports has a list of The 10 best and 10 worst NFL coaches.  Marvin Lewis made one of the lists.  Can you guess which one?

    #10 Saints' Sean Payton

#9 Bengals' Marvin Lewis: The Bengals avoided 0-16 by beating the Jaguars, although 1-15 is a real possibility. Lewis created the Chad Johnson situation. Lewis didn't learn from the Denny Green mess and allowed Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh to take over the Bengals the way Randy Moss and Cris Carter once did the Vikings. Let that be a lesson to any future NFL coaches. Don't let your wide receivers determine the personality of your football team. It cost Denny Green his job in Minny and it's likely to cost Marvin in Cincy.

    #8 Broncos' Mike Shanahan

    #7 49ers' Mike Singletary

    #6 Packers' Mike McCarthy

    #5 Cowboys' Wade Phillips

    #4 Jaguars' Jack Del Rio

    #3 Chargers' Norv Turner

    #2 Browns' Romeo Crennel

    #1 Eagles' Andy Reid

    A vote I probably won't cast

Tuesday, November 4, 2008, 11:03 AM EST [Bengals]

I haven't posted about the Bengals win yet because I really didn't know what I should say.  They played very well in the first half, and barely held on to win the game.  I am glad they won, but they are still 1-8.  That pretty much sums it up.

It seems that Marvin Lewis is up for the Coach of the Week Award.  Pardon me if I don't get around to voting.  A coach that is 1-8 should not be nominated for an award.  From bengals.com:

Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis is one of three nominees for this week's Motorola NFL Coach of the Week honors after his team won its first game of the season last Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fans can vote on NFL.com for the head coach whose game plan played the greatest role in his team's victory. Voting will take place from Tuesday morning through noon ET on Friday to determine the Motorola NFL Coach of the Week. The winner will be announced Friday afternoon on NFL.com. In January, voting will be held on NFL.com to determine the Motorola NFL Coach of the Year.

    2008 Bengals Theme Song

Wednesday, October 22, 2008, 07:38 AM EST [Bengals]

WhoDeyRevolution listed some possible theme songs for the 2008 Bengals season.  They listed With a Little Help from My Friends by The Beatles.  I started wondering what other songs by the Fab Four might apply.  Here is the list that I came up with:

    1. I'm a Loser.  This one's for you, Mr. Brown.
    2. I'll Cry Instead.  This is for the fans.  "I've got every reason on earth to be mad, because I just lost the only girl I had.  If I could get my way, I'd get myself locked up today, but I can't, so I'll cry instead."
    3. Help!  "Help!  I need somebody.  Help!  Not just anybody."  Check that, we will take just about anybody.
    4. The Long and Winding Road.  We have been on it for 18 years.
    5. The Fool on the Hill.  "The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still."
    6. Misery.  Obviously.
    7. Run for Your Life.  Dedicated to anyone brave enough to play quarterback for this team.
